DVM support FAQ
Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.
-
How do I use my DVM fire blanket?
Pull the exposed straps firmly with both hands to immediately extract the blanket from its safety bag. If safe to do so, turn off the heat source. Completely cover the fire to cut off its oxygen supply and leave the blanket in place for at least 20 minutes to cool.
-
What types of fires are DVM fire blankets suitable for?
DVM fire blankets effectively handle Class A-F fires, which include frying pan and cooking oil fires, small kitchen appliances (like toasters and microwaves), waste bin fires, and tabletop BBQs.
-
Can I wash and reuse my DVM fire blanket?
No. DVM fire blankets are single-use, maintenance-free items. Do not wash them, as doing so can compromise their fire-retardant properties. You must discard and replace the blanket after any use.
-
When should I replace my DVM fire blanket?
It is highly recommended to inspect your fire blanket annually to ensure the bag and pull tabs are intact. You should permanently replace the fire blanket every 7 years, or immediately if it has been used or appears visibly damaged.
