Installation
- Ensure the power to all HVAC systems is set to OFF before starting installation.
- Assemble the air vent and adapter ring with the nozzle facing down and the posts on the ring pointing up. Align the holes.
- Place a spring over each screw, ensuring it is centered over the hole and seats on the semi-ridge of the ring.
- Thread each of the three screws through the holes on the metal air vent.
- Thread the wing nuts so that the word UP faces away from the metal air vent. Stop threading when the screw is flush with the hex nut.
- Using safety glasses and a drill with a 1/8 drill bit, drill out the rivets in the stock air vent by aligning the plastic flow adjuster hole with the hole in the metal vent. Apply slow, controlled pressure to avoid drilling too far.
- With all three wing nuts threaded, tuck them in so that they’re snug with the metal air vent.
- Choose any two wing nuts from the CAMPAIR vent and slide that side of the assembly into the hole. Push inwards on the last screw while pushing on the vent to pop the assembly into the hole.
- Tighten the screws in a clockwise direction using the included hex wrench while holding the vent against the ceiling. Do a second pass on all screws to ensure they are fully tightened and flush with the ceiling.

- With all three wing nuts threaded, tuck them in so that they’re snug with the metal air vent.
- Using safety glasses & a drill with a 1/8″ drill bit, drill out the rivets in the stock air vent by lining up the plastic flow adjuster hole with the hole in the metal vent. Use slow, controlled pressure to ensure you don’t drill too far.
- Once all the rivets are removed the stock vent will drop out. Make sure no rivet pieces are left behind.
- Choose any two wing nuts from the CAMPAIR vent & slide that side of the assembly into the hole. The last screw & wing nut will rest on the edge of the hole. Simply push inwards on it while pushing on the vent & the assembly will pop into the hole.
- Using the included hex wrench begin tightening the screws in a clockwise direction while holding the vent agains the ceiling. Stop as soon as you feel slight pressure. Continue to the next screw. Do a 2nd pass on all the screws to finish tightening. The assembly should be fully flush with the ceiling.
Maintainance
Maintaining Your CAMPAIR Air Vents
Maintaining polished stainless steel air vents requires regular care to preserve their shine & prevent dulling. Start by gently dusting the vents with a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove surface particles that could scratch the polished finish. For deeper cleaning, use a mixture of warm water & a few drops of mild dish soap, applying it with a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Clean in gentle sweeps & avoid swirling, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Dry the vents immediately with a soft towel to prevent water spots & maintain their polished appearance.
To enhance the shine & protect the surface, apply a stainless steel polish or cleaner specifically designed for polished finishes. Use a microfiber cloth to apply the product, buffing the surface in the direction of the grain to avoid streaks & ensure an even shine. Regular polishing not only keeps the vents looking pristine but also adds a protective layer that helps resist fingerprints, smudges, & corrosion. Avoid using harsh chemicals, steel wool, or abrasive pads, as these can damage the polished finish. With proper maintenance, your polished stainless steel air vents will continue to shine & complement your Airstream beautifully.
