Overview
The Bogen C4000 Series is a software-based solution for commercial paging and audio distribution applications that can be scaled to support a virtually unlimited number of audio sources, endpoints, and zones. System features, software platform, and configuration can be easily upgraded over time to address ever-changing customer needs, environments, and technology. Bogen’s Nyquist team is continually innovating new features, appliances, and security enhancements to the C4000 solution. As such, a three (3) year subscription to all applicable product software updates is included with the purchase of a Nyquist C4000 system (“C4000”), with subsequent three year Software Update Subscription (SUS) extensions available. - The Bogen C4000 Series is a software-based solution for commercial paging and audio distribution applications that demand a high degree of scalability and flexibility. The heart of the C4000 solution is a powerful, state-of-the-art system controller with an easy to use Web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) that is accessible from any PC, tablet, or mobile device. The system leverages existing LAN, WAN, and/or legacy “home-run” speaker cabling for cost-effectiveness. Feature-rich, purpose-built appliances provide audio mixing, amplification, and distribution, as well as the ability to easily integrate with third-party systems, such as PBX, access control, and fire alarm.
- The C4000 solution can be scaled to support a virtually unlimited number of audio sources, end-points, and zones. Additional features and capabilities can be easily added as user’s needs change. The software platform can be easily upgraded over time to address ever-changing customer needs, environments, and technology.
- The C4000 solution features a built-in, streaming Internet radio service, airable. Business users can also access commercially licensed, customizable curated streaming music from SoundMachine, the premier music subscription service for business. Both services are perfect for a wide variety of background and/or foreground music applications. SoundMachine gives large and small retailers, restaurants, bars, or any other company looking to enhance their customer experience the ability to craft a seamless, engaging, and on-brand music experience.
- Bogen’s Nyquist team is continually and rapidly innovating new features, appliances, and security enhancements to the C4000 solution. As such, a three (3) year subscription to all applicable software updates – including new feature releases – is included with the purchase of every Nyquist C4000 system. Bogen also offers customers additional three (3) year extended Software Update Subscription (“SUS”) plans to help protect systems against technical obsolescence.

- Debian 12: In our ongoing effort to keep Nyquist as secure as possible, we will be upgrading the Nyquist OS to Debian 12 with the 7.0 software. This allows our security-conscious customers to keep the System Controller OS up to date with security patches.

- API v2: This new API version adds support for inbound POSTs with JSON files from 3rd party systems. This allows images and audio to be passed to Nyquist.
- Multiple NTP servers: Allow customers to configure use of more than one NTP server.
- Debian 11 System OS Upgrade: Allows security conscious customers to keep the system OS up to date with the latest security patches

- Access to Powerful New Features. Each new release provides users with new feature capabilities that not only enhance the power and performance of the system, but also help protect against technical obsolescence.
- Bug Fixes. These help to ensure that your system is operating at peak performance 24/7–especially during emergencies.
- New Device Support. This allows users to deploy the newest Nyquist appliances to further expand their system’s functionality.
- Important Security Updates. Maintaining system security is important -especially in a networked environment, where staying on top of security updates helps prevent hacking, viruses, and malware.
- Avoid Lapsed Coverage (“Catch-up”) Fees. Avert expired subscriptions when updating your system becomes imperative due to evolving school safety initiatives.
- [NYQ-8262]: Fixed an issue where, when using Automatic Failover, the NQ-SYSCTRL is sourcing the RTP traffic from the Primary or Secondary IP Address instead of the Shared IP Address specified in the SDP.
- [NYQ-8352]: Fixed an issue where enabling TLS caused the server to fail to read the CA certificate, resulting in Nyquist appliance service disruption.
- [NYQ-8498]: Fixed an issue where certain NWS Alerts would fail to display.
Firmware Update
This Nyquist server software patch also deploys an updated firmware version (NyqUpdate-5.3.9) for all Nyquist Appliances.
Important Note: NYQ-8262 (Automatic Failover Reconfiguration Required)After applying this patch, Automatic Failover must be reconfigured for the fix to take effect.
Required steps (on both Primary and Secondary servers):
- Click “Disable” on the Primary and Secondary servers.
- Click “Save” on the Primary and Secondary servers.
- Re-run the configuration using the Setup Steps section on the Automatic Failover page.
