I have an ATOMSTACK A20 PRO V2 machine and have just purchased a L2 Z axis motorized drive ( BM AAS41A0125-AB ) and would like to hook it up but the cable attached to the unit has a connector which does not match any place on my machine . Where does it go to . In the instructions it looks like where the connection for the y motor is. Please clarify how to hook it up . Thank You Bob
How do I connect the L2 Smart Z-Axis Module cable to an ATOMSTACK A20 PRO V2 machine?
To connect the ATOMSTACK L2 Smart Z-Axis Module to your A20 PRO V2, you must use the specific wiring method outlined in the manual for "V2" series machines. The connection does not plug directly into a spare port on the motherboard; instead, it typically involves an adapter or a specific bridge connection.
According to the Section 05 — Cable connection method for the A20 PRO V2:
If the connector physically does not fit any port on the X-axis carriage board, please verify if your kit included a small adapter board or a Y-shaped splitter cable, as some V2 revisions require splitting the signal or using a specific conversion interface provided in the L2 box.

I don’t know what the transfer board is nor do I see anything on the x axis carriage. What is the x axis terminal ? I don’t see any extra ports anywhere .
Where are the transfer board and X-axis terminal located on the ATOMSTACK L2 Smart Z-Axis Module?
Based on the installation manual for the ATOMSTACK L2 Smart Z-Axis Module, the components you are looking for are part of the cable connection setup (Section 05):
Note: If you do not see extra ports, ensure you are looking at the back of the laser carriage assembly. On some older models (like the A5 Pro or V2 series), the connection method differs and may involve connecting directly to the main control box or using a specific adapter cable included in the L2 kit. Please verify your specific machine model, as the manual shows different wiring paths for the A5/V2 series versus the Pro/Ultra series.

I do not see any PCB or any extra ports. Nor is there any adapters or splitters in the box.
Where are the PCB, extra ports, adapters, or splitters for the ATOMSTACK L2 Smart Z-Axis Module?
Based on the ATOMSTACK L2 Smart Z-Axis Module installation guide, the components included in the box (Section 01 - List) are:
Regarding the PCB and Ports: The L2 module is designed to integrate with existing AtomStack frames. For many models (like the A6 Pro, A12 Pro, A24 Pro, etc.), the connection is made directly to the existing X-axis motor interface or the laser module's connection point using the provided Z-axis connection cable. There is typically no separate external PCB board included in this kit.
Regarding Adapters/Splitters: The manual shows that for certain models (Section 05 - Cable connection method), you must unplug the original X-axis motor cable and connect it to the Z-axis module's interface, or use the dedicated connector provided in the kit. If your specific machine model is not listed in the manual (A5, A10, A20, A6 Pro, etc.), you may require a specific adapter not included in the standard L2 package. If these items are missing from your specific kit, it is recommended to contact support@atomstack.com for verification.
