4.3. Pedal Installation
Important: Pedals are side-specific. The left pedal (L) has a left-hand thread and tightens counter-clockwise. The right pedal (R) has a right-hand thread and tightens clockwise.
- Identify the 'L' and 'R' markings on the pedals.
- Apply a small amount of grease to the pedal threads.
- Carefully thread the 'L' pedal into the left crank arm (counter-clockwise).
- Carefully thread the 'R' pedal into the right crank arm (clockwise).
- Tighten both pedals firmly with a wrench.

5.2. Pedal Assist System (PAS)
The DUOTTS C29 Pro features a Pedal Assist System (PAS) with multiple levels. The motor provides assistance only when you are pedaling.
- Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the display control panel to adjust the PAS level.
- Level 0: No motor assistance (bike operates as a regular bicycle).
- Level 1-5 (or similar): Increasing levels of motor assistance. Higher levels provide more power and easier pedaling.
5.3. Gear Shifting (21 Speeds)
Your C29 Pro is equipped with a 21-speed gear system for adapting to various terrains and inclines.
- Use the shifter on the right handlebar for the rear derailleur (7 speeds).
- Use the shifter on the left handlebar for the front derailleur (3 speeds).
- Shift gears smoothly while pedaling to avoid strain on the drivetrain.
- Downshift before climbing hills and upshift when riding on flat terrain or downhill.

5.4. Braking System (Disc Brakes)
The C29 Pro features disc brakes for reliable stopping power.
- The right brake lever controls the rear brake.
- The left brake lever controls the front brake.
- Apply both brakes simultaneously for effective and controlled stopping.
- Avoid sudden, hard braking with the front brake only, especially at high speeds, as this can cause loss of control.

6. Battery Charging and Care
Proper battery care ensures longevity and optimal performance.
6.1. Charging the Battery
- Ensure the e-bike is turned off before charging.
- Locate the charging port on the battery (or frame if integrated).
- Connect the charger to the battery charging port.
- Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet.
- The charger indicator light will typically turn red during charging and green when fully charged.
- Disconnect the charger once charging is complete. Do not overcharge.
Charging time typically ranges from 4-6 hours for a full charge, depending on the battery's state of discharge.

6.2. Battery Care and Storage
- Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to 50-70% every 1-2 months to prevent deep discharge.
- Do not expose the battery to water or moisture.
- Use only the original DUOTTS charger provided with your bike.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the safety, performance, and longevity of your DUOTTS C29 Pro.
7.1. Daily Checks (Before Each Ride)
- Tires: Check tire pressure. Ensure tires are inflated to the recommended PSI (printed on the tire sidewall).
- Brakes: Test both front and rear brakes for proper function and responsiveness. Ensure brake levers are not spongy.
- Bolts and Fasteners: Quickly check that all visible bolts (handlebar, seat post, wheels) are tight.
- Battery: Verify the battery is securely installed and sufficiently charged.
7.2. Weekly/Bi-Weekly Checks
- Chain: Clean and lubricate the chain regularly, especially after riding in wet or dirty conditions.
- Gears: Check for smooth gear shifting. Adjust if necessary (refer to a bicycle repair guide or professional).
- Brake Pads: Inspect brake pads for wear. Replace if worn down.
- Spokes: Check for loose or broken spokes.

7.3. Professional Servicing
It is recommended to have your DUOTTS C29 Pro inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic at least once a year, or more frequently if you ride often or in challenging conditions.
8. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your DUOTTS C29 Pro.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| E-bike does not power on. | Battery not charged, battery not installed correctly, loose connection, power button issue. | Charge the battery. Ensure battery is fully seated and locked. Check all cable connections. Try holding the power button longer. |
| Motor not assisting. | PAS level is 0, battery low, sensor issue, brake lever engaged. | Increase PAS level. Charge battery. Ensure brake levers are fully released. Check for error codes on the display. |
| Brakes feel weak or noisy. | Worn brake pads, contaminated rotors, loose caliper, air in hydraulic system (if applicable). | Inspect and replace brake pads. Clean rotors. Tighten caliper bolts. If hydraulic, bleeding may be required by a professional. |
| Gears are not shifting smoothly. | Derailleur out of adjustment, dirty/dry chain, bent hanger. | Clean and lubricate chain. Adjust derailleur limit screws and cable tension (consult a bike mechanic if unsure). Check for bent derailleur hanger. |
| Tire goes flat quickly. | Puncture, valve issue, improper tire seating. | Inspect tire and tube for punctures and repair/replace. Check valve stem for leaks. Ensure tire is properly seated on the rim. |
If you encounter issues not listed here or are unable to resolve a problem, please contact DUOTTS customer support or a certified e-bike technician.
