5. Operation
5.1. Switching Broadcast Modes
The eppfun QCC3086 supports two main broadcast modes: Classic Bluetooth and Auracast.
- Press the Mode Button to switch between Classic Bluetooth and Auracast modes. The OLED screen will indicate the active mode.

Figure 5.1: Comparison of Classic Bluetooth (1-to-2 transmit) and Auracast (1-to-N broadcast) connection capabilities.
5.2. Classic Bluetooth Mode (1-to-2 Pairing)
In Classic Bluetooth mode, the transmitter can connect to up to two Bluetooth headphones or speakers simultaneously.
- Ensure the transmitter is in Classic Bluetooth mode (indicated on the OLED screen).
- Put your Bluetooth headphones/speaker into pairing mode.
- Press the Pairing Button on the transmitter. The OLED screen will show "Pairing..." and search for devices.
- Once connected, the device name will appear on the OLED screen.
- To connect a second device, put the second Bluetooth headphones/speaker into pairing mode and press the Pairing Button again.
5.3. Auracast Broadcast Mode (1-to-N Broadcast)
Auracast allows broadcasting audio to multiple Auracast-compatible devices (headphones, speakers, hearing aids) simultaneously. This mode supports both public and encrypted broadcasts.
- Ensure the transmitter is in Auracast mode (indicated on the OLED screen).
- The OLED screen will display whether the broadcast is public or encrypted. If encrypted, a password will be shown.
- On your Auracast-compatible receiving device, search for available Auracast broadcasts.
- Select the eppfun QCC3086 broadcast. If it's encrypted, enter the password displayed on the transmitter's OLED screen.
- Multiple Auracast devices can connect to the same broadcast.
5.4. Dual Broadcast Modes (24KHz / 48KHz)
The device supports 24KHz and 48KHz broadcast modes. You can switch between these frequencies to optimize for different audio playback demands.
- Refer to the on-screen menu or specific button combinations (if available, not detailed in product info) to switch between 24KHz and 48KHz modes. The OLED screen will display the active frequency.
5.5. Transmitter Bypass Function
The bypass function allows simultaneous wired and wireless audio transmission. This means you can send audio to both wired speakers/soundbars and wireless Bluetooth headphones at the same time.
- Connect your audio source to the transmitter's input (AUX IN or OPTICAL IN).
- Connect your wired audio device (e.g., soundbar) to the transmitter's corresponding output (AUX OUT or OPTICAL OUT).
- Pair your Bluetooth headphones to the transmitter as described in the Classic Bluetooth or Auracast sections.
- Audio will now be outputted to both the wired and wireless devices.

6. Maintenance
- Keep the device dry. Avoid exposure to moisture or liquids.
- Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Avoid extreme temperatures. Store the device in a cool, dry place.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. This will void the warranty.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1. No Power
- Ensure the USB-C power cable is securely connected to both the transmitter and a working power source (5V USB adapter or USB port).
- Try a different USB-C cable or power adapter.
- Verify the power source is active.
7.2. No Audio Output
- Check if the audio source is playing and its volume is turned up.
- Verify the correct input source (AUX, OPT, USB) is selected on the transmitter using the Input Selector Switch.
- Ensure your Bluetooth headphones/speaker are properly paired and connected to the transmitter. The OLED screen should confirm the connection.
- Check the volume level on your receiving Bluetooth device.
- If using optical input, ensure your audio source is set to PCM/Stereo output, not Bitstream/Dolby/DTS, as these are often not supported by simple transmitters.
- Try re-pairing your Bluetooth device.
7.3. Connection Drops or Short Range
- Ensure there are no significant physical obstructions (walls, large furniture) between the transmitter and the receiving device.
- Keep the transmitter and receiving device within the specified 20-meter (65-foot) range in open environments.
- Avoid placing the transmitter near other wireless devices (Wi-Fi routers, microwaves) that may cause interference.
- Re-pair the devices.
7.4. Cannot Pair with a Second Device (Classic Bluetooth)
- Ensure the first device is already connected.
- Put the second device into pairing mode.
- Press the Pairing Button on the transmitter again to search for the second device.
- Some devices may require a specific pairing sequence; refer to your receiving device's manual.
