Setup
- Wash Components: Before first use, wash the pitcher, lid, and filter housing with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly. The pitcher and lid are dishwasher safe.
- Prepare Filter: Remove the PUR Plus filter from its packaging. Submerge the filter in cold water for 15 minutes to prime it. This helps remove air bubbles and ensures proper filtration.
- Install Filter: Insert the primed filter into the filter housing in the pitcher. Ensure it is seated firmly to prevent unfiltered water from bypassing the filter.
- Fill Pitcher: Fill the top reservoir with cold tap water. Allow the water to filter through to the bottom chamber. Discard the first two full pitchers of filtered water to flush any carbon dust from the filter.
- Reset Filter Indicator: After installing a new filter, press and hold the reset button on the lid for a few seconds until the indicator light flashes green. This activates the filter life tracking.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: The pitcher and lid are dishwasher safe. For best results, place them on the top rack. The filter housing should also be washed regularly. Do not wash the filter itself with soap.
- Filter Replacement: Replace the PUR Plus filter approximately every 2 months or after filtering 40 gallons of water, whichever comes first. The filter change indicator will signal when replacement is due. Only use Genuine PUR Pitcher & Dispenser replacement filters.

Troubleshooting
- Slow Filtration:
- If water filters slowly, the filter may be clogged or have trapped air. Remove the filter, shake it vigorously, rinse the drain ports under cold water for 30 seconds, then warm water for 30 seconds, and re-install it firmly. Ensure the filter is properly primed by submerging it in cold water for 15 minutes before installation.
- Lid Not Fitting Properly:
- Ensure the inner "liner" or filter housing is correctly oriented and seated within the pitcher before attaching the lid. Check for any obstructions or misalignment of the lid's pins.
- Filter Indicator Not Working:
- Ensure the reset button was pressed and held after filter installation. If the issue persists, the battery for the indicator may need replacement (if applicable) or contact customer support.
