  4. Place the CPU gently into the socket without forcing it.
  5. Close the socket cover and push the load lever back into its locked position. This will secure the CPU.
  6. Apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste to the CPU's integrated heat spreader (IHS) and install the CPU cooler according to its manufacturer's instructions.

3. RAM Installation (DDR3)

  1. Identify the DDR3 memory slots on the motherboard.
  2. Open the clips at both ends of the memory slot.
  3. Align the notch on the DDR3 memory module with the key in the memory slot.
  4. Insert the memory module firmly into the slot until the clips snap into place, securing the module.

4. Storage Device Installation

The DXMBB75S M2 motherboard supports SATA storage devices and features an M.2 slot for compatible SSDs.

4.1. M.2 SSD Installation

  1. Locate the M.2 slot on the motherboard.
  2. Remove the M.2 standoff screw from the motherboard.
  3. Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot at a 30-degree angle.
  4. Gently push the M.2 SSD down and secure it with the standoff screw.

4.2. SATA Drive Installation

  1. Connect one end of a SATA data cable to a SATA port on the motherboard.
  2. Connect the other end of the SATA data cable to your SATA hard drive or SSD.
  3. Connect a SATA power cable from your power supply unit (PSU) to the SATA drive.

5. Power Supply Connections

  1. Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector from your PSU to the main power socket on the motherboard.
  2. Connect the 4-pin (or 8-pin, if applicable) CPU power connector from your PSU to the CPU power socket near the CPU.

6. Front Panel and Peripheral Connections

Connect your case's front panel connectors (Power LED, HDD LED, Power Switch, Reset Switch, USB ports, Audio jacks) to the corresponding headers on the motherboard. Refer to your case manual for specific pin assignments.

Operating Instructions

1. First Boot and BIOS Setup

  1. After assembling all components, connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
  2. Power on your system. During the boot process, repeatedly press the designated key (usually DEL or F2) to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility.
  3. In the BIOS, configure boot order, set the system date and time, and adjust any other necessary settings. Save changes and exit.

2. Operating System Installation

Insert your operating system installation media (USB drive or DVD) and follow the on-screen prompts to install your preferred OS.

3. Driver Installation

After OS installation, install the necessary drivers for your motherboard. These typically include:

  • Chipset drivers
  • LAN (Ethernet) drivers
  • Audio drivers
  • USB 3.0 drivers
  • Integrated graphics drivers (if using CPU's integrated GPU)

Drivers can usually be found on the manufacturer's website or an included driver CD/USB drive.

Maintenance

1. Dust Cleaning

Regularly clean your computer's interior to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating and component failure. Use compressed air to remove dust from fans, heatsinks, and motherboard components. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.

2. BIOS Updates

Periodically check the Duex website for BIOS updates. BIOS updates can improve system stability, add support for new hardware, or fix bugs. Follow the update instructions carefully to avoid damaging your motherboard.

3. Driver Updates

Keep your system drivers updated to ensure optimal performance and compatibility. Check the Duex website or component manufacturers' websites for the latest driver versions.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Ensure all power cables (24-pin ATX, 4/8-pin CPU) are securely connected. Check the power supply unit (PSU) and wall outlet.
  • No Display (No POST): Verify that the monitor is connected and powered on. Reseat the RAM modules and any expansion cards. Check CPU installation and cooler connection.
  • System Instability/Crashes: This can be caused by overheating, faulty RAM, or outdated drivers. Check temperatures, run memory diagnostic tools, and update drivers.
  • Peripheral Not Detected: Ensure the peripheral is properly connected. Try a different port. Install or update relevant drivers.
  • BIOS Reset: If you encounter boot issues after changing BIOS settings, clear the CMOS by removing the motherboard battery for a few minutes or using the CMOS clear jumper (refer to motherboard diagram).
