4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your IBKINXX incubator:

  1. Step 1: Place Fertilized Eggs. Carefully arrange fertilized eggs on the appropriate egg tray (small or big, depending on egg size). Ensure eggs are clean and free from cracks.
  2. Step 2: Connect Water. Fill the provided water bottles with distilled water. Connect the adapters and attach them to the external water refill ports on the incubator. This system allows for stable humidity without opening the unit.
  3. Step 3: Set Incubation Conditions. Plug in the incubator. Use the control panel to set the desired temperature and egg turning interval. The default temperature is 100.4°F (adjustable range: 68-104°F). The default egg turning interval is 120 minutes (adjustable to 60, 120, or 180 minutes). Refer to Section 5 for detailed operating instructions.
  4. Step 4: Wait to Hatch. Once settings are confirmed, the incubator will begin operation. Monitor the temperature and humidity levels regularly.

5.2. Temperature and Humidity Control

  • The LED display shows the current temperature in Fahrenheit. The default temperature is 100.4°F, with an adjustable range of 68-104°F.
  • Humidity is maintained by the external water refill system. Ensure water bottles are always filled. The display shows current humidity levels.
  • An alarm will sound if the temperature deviates by more than 2°F from the set point.

5.3. Automatic Egg Turning

  • The incubator automatically turns eggs to mimic natural conditions, promoting even development.
  • Adjustable turning intervals: 60, 120, or 180 minutes. The default is 120 minutes.
  • The system automatically stops turning eggs three days before the expected hatch date to prepare for hatching.

5.4. Egg Candling

  • A built-in candling feature allows you to observe embryo development without disturbing the eggs.
  • Use the candler to check for fertilization around days 5-6, inspect embryo development around days 11-12, and look for developed embryos or signs of stillbirth around days 16-17.

If you encounter issues with your incubator, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Common Troubleshooting
ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Temperature fluctuationsIncubator placed in a drafty area or near a heat source; lid not properly sealed.Relocate the incubator to a stable environment. Ensure the lid is securely closed.
Humidity too lowWater bottles empty; incubator not on a level surface affecting water flow.Refill water bottles. Ensure the incubator is on a perfectly level surface for proper water distribution.
Eggs not turningEgg turning function disabled; mechanism jammed.Check control panel settings to ensure automatic turning is active. Inspect the turning mechanism for obstructions. Note that turning stops 3 days before hatching.
Candling light not workingBright ambient light interfering.Perform candling in a dimly lit room or cover the blue indicator light on the control panel if it's too bright.
Poor hatch rateIncorrect temperature/humidity; infertile eggs; improper egg handling.Verify temperature and humidity settings. Ensure eggs are fertile and handled correctly before and during incubation.
Incubator beeps and lights flashPower interruption or internal error.Unplug the unit, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
