4. Setup

4.1 Attaching to a Tripod

  1. Locate the 3/8" screw hole at the base of the GR7 tripod head.
  2. Align the tripod head with the mounting screw on your tripod.
  3. Rotate the tripod head clockwise until it is securely fastened to the tripod. Ensure it is tight to prevent wobbling.

4.2 Attaching the Camera

  1. Ensure the quick release plate is detached from the tripod head. If attached, loosen the clamp knob and slide it off.
  2. Locate the 1/4" screw on the quick release plate.
  3. Screw the quick release plate onto the bottom of your camera. Tighten it firmly using a coin or screwdriver if necessary.
  4. Slide the camera with the attached quick release plate into the clamp on the GR7 tripod head.
  5. Tighten the clamp knob securely to lock the camera in place. Verify that the camera is stable and cannot accidentally detach.

5. Operating Instructions

The GR7 features three independent axes for precise camera positioning.

5.1 Adjusting Tilt (Frontal and Lateral)

Each tilt axis (frontal and lateral) is controlled by a dedicated gear knob. To adjust:

  1. Identify the knob corresponding to the desired tilt direction (one for forward/backward tilt, one for left/right tilt).
  2. Gently rotate the knob to make fine adjustments to the camera's angle. The geared mechanism allows for precise, small movements.
  3. Once the desired angle is achieved, release the knob. The geared mechanism will hold the position.

5.2 Adjusting Pan (360° Rotation)

The GR7 offers dual panning capabilities:

  • Base Panning: The main base of the tripod head can rotate 360°. Loosen the base panning knob, rotate the head to the desired horizontal position, and then tighten the knob.
  • Clamp Panning: The camera clamp itself can also rotate 360° independently. Loosen the clamp panning knob, adjust the camera's horizontal angle, and then tighten the knob. This is particularly useful for panoramic photography or when fine-tuning composition without moving the entire tripod.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the tripod head with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dust and dirt. For stubborn grime, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Lubrication: The geared mechanisms are designed for smooth operation. Avoid applying lubricants unless specifically instructed by INNOREL support, as this may attract dust and impair performance.
  • Storage: Store the tripod head in its protective bag in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all knobs and screws to ensure they are tight. If any part appears damaged or loose, discontinue use and contact customer support.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Camera Wobbles:
    • Ensure the quick release plate is securely attached to the camera.
    • Verify that the quick release plate clamp knob on the tripod head is fully tightened.
    • Check if the tripod head is securely mounted to the tripod.
    • Ensure the total weight of your camera and lens does not exceed the maximum load capacity of 6kg.
  • Difficulty Adjusting Axes:
    • Ensure no knobs are overtightened, preventing movement.
    • Check for any obstructions or debris in the geared mechanisms.
  • Panoramic Movement Not Smooth:
    • Ensure the panning knob is sufficiently loosened for smooth rotation.
    • Clean the panning base to remove any dust or grit.

If you encounter issues not listed here or if troubleshooting steps do not resolve the problem, please contact INNOREL customer support.
