3. Setup
3.1 System Requirements
Ensure your computer meets the following minimum system requirements for optimal performance:
- macOS: CPU: M2 Pro, RAM ≥ 16 GB
- Windows: CPU: Intel i7 13th Gen or AMD Ryzen 7 5800, RAM ≥ 32GB, GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (8GB)
For enhanced performance, especially with NVIDIA GPUs, refer to the recommended specifications:
- macOS: CPU: M4 Pro or better, RAM ≥ 24GB
- Windows: CPU: Intel i9 12th Gen or better, RAM ≥ 64GB, GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 (8GB) or better
Note: Revo Measure software is only compatible with Windows 10/11. A dedicated graphics card is required for acceleration in Laser Line Scanning modes. AMD and Mac GPUs do not currently support acceleration for these modes.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Scanning Modes
The MetroY Ultra features five versatile scanning modes to accommodate various object sizes and detail requirements:
- 34 Laser Cross-lines: For rapid scanning of large areas, capturing up to 3 million points per second.
- 15 Parallel Lines: Ideal for capturing fine details on complex geometries.
- Single-line Mode: Used for scanning deep holes and intricate features.
- Full-field Blue Structured Light: Enables marker-free scanning, capturing up to 7 million points per second.
- One-click Automatic Turntable Scanning: For repeatable and automated scanning of small to medium-sized objects.

5. Maintenance
5.1 General Care and Cleaning
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your MetroY Ultra 3D Scanner, follow these general care guidelines:
- Keep the scanner and accessories clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Avoid exposing the scanner to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct impacts.
- Store the scanner in its carrying case when not in use to protect it from damage.
5.2 Calibration and Accuracy Verification
The included metrology-grade CMM-certified carbon fiber ball plate allows for on-site accuracy verification. Regularly performing this verification ensures your scans meet industrial standards and maintain data integrity.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your MetroY Ultra 3D Scanner, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Software Performance: Ensure your computer meets or exceeds the recommended system requirements, especially regarding RAM and GPU. Insufficient hardware can lead to lag or unresponsiveness in the Revo Measure software.
- Scanning Speed: Optimal scanning speeds (up to 90 FPS) are achieved with NVIDIA GPUs. If you experience slower speeds, verify your GPU compatibility and drivers.
- Tracking Issues: When using markers, ensure they are properly adhered and visible to the scanner. For feature alignment, ensure the object has sufficient geometric detail.
- Connectivity: Check USB cable connections for security. For Wi-Fi, ensure both the scanner and computer are on a stable Wi-Fi 6 network.
- Scan Quality: For highly transparent or extremely reflective objects, while the MetroY Ultra reduces the need for spray, some challenging surfaces may still benefit from a temporary matte coating if issues persist.
