Setup

1. Initial Charging

Your Orient Solartech watch is powered by light. Before initial use, expose the watch dial to a bright light source (natural sunlight is ideal) for several hours to ensure a full charge. A full charge provides approximately 6 months of autonomy.

2. Setting Time and Date (Perpetual Calendar)

The watch features a perpetual calendar, which automatically adjusts for different month lengths and leap years once correctly set. Refer to the detailed instructions below for setting the time and date:

  1. Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (located on the right side of the watch case) to the second click position.
  2. Set the time: Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the AM/PM indicator is correctly set for the 24-hour cycle.
  3. Set the date: Push the crown back to the first click position. Rotate the crown to adjust the date. For perpetual calendar models, follow specific instructions in the full manual for initial year/month setting if required.
  4. Push in the crown: Once time and date are set, push the crown back into its normal position to engage the movement and ensure water resistance.

3. Alarm Setting

The watch is equipped with an alarm function. Consult the full instruction manual for specific button operations to set and activate the alarm.

Operating

1. Chronograph Functions

The chronograph allows for precise measurement of elapsed time. Typically, the upper pusher starts and stops the chronograph, while the lower pusher resets it. Refer to the full manual for detailed instructions on using the chronograph sub-dials.

2. Battery Level Indicator

Your Solartech watch includes a battery level indicator, usually displayed on a sub-dial or through specific hand movements, to show the current charge status. Ensure the watch receives adequate light to maintain an optimal charge level.

3. Water Resistance

This watch has a water resistance rating of 10 ATM (100 meters). This means it is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and showering. However, it is not recommended for scuba diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Wipe the watch case and sapphire crystal with a soft, dry cloth. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture and harsh chemicals. If the watch becomes dirty, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly.

2. Strap Care

The leather strap is susceptible to wear and tear from moisture, sweat, and direct sunlight. To prolong its life, avoid prolonged exposure to water and direct sunlight. Clean with a specialized leather cleaner if necessary.

3. Storage

When not in use, store your watch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. To maintain its charge, periodically expose it to light, even when stored.

Troubleshooting

Watch Not Running or Incorrect Time

  • Insufficient Charge: Ensure the watch has been exposed to sufficient light for charging. Place it under a bright light source for several hours.
  • Incorrect Setting: Re-check the time and date settings as per the 'Setup' section.
  • Crown Position: Verify that the crown is fully pushed in. If it is pulled out, the watch will not run or maintain water resistance.

If problems persist after following these steps, please contact an authorized Orient service center for assistance.
