1. Important Safety Instructions
Read all instructions carefully before operating the lawn mower. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or property damage. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Personal Safety: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, sturdy footwear, and hearing protection. Do not operate the mower barefoot or in open-toed sandals.
- Area Preparation: Clear the mowing area of objects such as rocks, sticks, wires, and toys that could be thrown by the blade. Keep bystanders, children, and pets at a safe distance (at least 50 feet/15 meters) from the operating area.
- Operation Conditions: Operate the mower only in daylight or good artificial light. Avoid operating in wet grass, which can cause slipping and reduce cutting efficiency.
- Blade Safety: Never place hands or feet near rotating parts. Disconnect the battery pack before cleaning, servicing, or removing material from the mower.
- Battery Safety: Use only the specified battery packs and charger. Do not charge batteries in damp or wet locations. Do not incinerate battery packs, even if severely damaged.
- Slope Operation: Exercise extreme caution when operating on slopes. Mow across the face of slopes, never up and down. Avoid mowing excessively steep slopes.
- Maintenance: Regularly inspect the mower for damage, loose parts, or worn components. Replace damaged parts immediately.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Starting the Mower (2-Step Safety Start)
The MZK lawn mower features a 2-step safety start mechanism to prevent accidental activation:
- Press and hold the safety button (usually located on the handle).
- While holding the safety button, pull the bail switch lever towards the handle. The motor will start.
Release the safety button once the motor is running. To stop the mower, simply release the bail switch lever.

4.2 Adjusting Cutting Height
The mower offers 4 cutting height settings, from 1.3 inches (33mm) to 2.6 inches (65mm). To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever(s) on the mower wheels or deck. Move the lever to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.

4.3 Mowing Techniques
For optimal results, mow in overlapping rows. The 13-inch cutting deck allows for efficient coverage. For thick or tall grass, consider making two passes or setting a higher cutting height initially, then lowering it for a second pass. The brushless motor provides 2800 RPM on Low and 3400 RPM on High for efficient cutting.

4.4 Emptying the Grass Bag
Monitor the grass collection bag during operation. When it appears full, stop the mower, release the bail switch, and wait for the blade to stop completely. Carefully remove the grass bag by lifting the rear discharge flap and detaching it. Empty the clippings into a suitable receptacle and reattach the bag securely before resuming operation.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
After each use, disconnect the battery pack and clean the mower. Remove any grass clippings, dirt, or debris from the deck, blade area, and wheels. Use a damp cloth for external surfaces. Do not use water jets or harsh chemicals. Ensure all vents are clear of obstructions.
5.2 Blade Care
Regularly inspect the cutting blade for sharpness and damage. A dull or damaged blade can lead to poor cutting performance and strain the motor. If necessary, have the blade sharpened or replaced by a qualified service technician. Always wear heavy-duty gloves when handling the blade.
5.3 Storage
For long-term storage, ensure the mower is clean and dry. Remove the battery packs and store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The mower features a compact folding design; fold the handle down to save space. Store the mower in a secure location, out of reach of children.

6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Mower does not start | Battery not installed correctly or discharged; Safety button/bail switch not engaged; Overload protection activated. | Ensure batteries are fully charged and properly inserted. Engage safety button and bail switch simultaneously. Allow mower to cool down if overloaded. |
| Poor cutting performance | Dull or damaged blade; Cutting height too low for grass type; Grass bag full; Wet grass. | Inspect and sharpen/replace blade. Adjust cutting height. Empty grass bag. Avoid mowing wet grass. |
| Short runtime | Batteries not fully charged; Old or worn batteries; Mowing very thick/tall grass. | Ensure batteries are fully charged before use. Consider replacing old batteries. Mow in stages or raise cutting height for dense grass. |
| Excessive vibration | Damaged or unbalanced blade; Loose components. | Inspect blade for damage and balance. Tighten any loose nuts or bolts. If vibration persists, seek professional service. |
