6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your electric bike.

6.1 Battery Care

  • Charging: Fully charge the battery in 5-6 hours using the provided charger. Do not overcharge.
  • Storage: If storing the bike for an extended period, charge the battery to 50-70% and store it in a cool, dry place. Recharge every 2-3 months.
  • Cleaning: Keep battery contacts clean and dry.

6.2 Tire Pressure

  • Check tire pressure before each ride. Refer to the sidewall of the 26" x 2.0" tires for recommended PSI.
  • Proper tire pressure improves ride quality, efficiency, and safety.

6.3 Brakes and Gears

  • Brakes: Regularly inspect the dual disc brakes for wear on pads and rotors. Ensure brake levers are firm and responsive. Adjust as needed or have a professional service them.
  • Gears: Keep the 7-speed chain and derailleur clean and lubricated. Ensure smooth shifting.

6.4 General Cleaning

  • Clean the bike regularly with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid high-pressure washing directly on electrical components.
  • The bike has an IPX4 waterproof rating, meaning it is resistant to splashing water from any direction.

7. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:

  • Bike not powering on: Check if the battery is fully charged and properly seated. Ensure the battery is locked in place and the key is turned to the 'on' position.
  • Motor not assisting: Verify that the PAS level is not set to 0. Check if the brake levers are fully released, as some systems cut motor power when brakes are applied.
  • Brakes squealing or ineffective: Inspect brake pads for wear. Clean rotors and pads. If the issue persists, professional adjustment may be required.
  • Gears not shifting smoothly: Check for debris in the derailleur or chain. Lubricate the chain. If shifting is still problematic, the derailleur may need adjustment.

For persistent issues, contact Jasion customer support.
