Figure 7: Six Test Modes. This diagram outlines the different measurement capabilities of the device.

5.1 General Measurement Procedure

  1. Power on the DM103.
  2. Select the desired test mode using the 'MODE' button.
  3. Carefully grip the component with the gold-plated tweezers. Ensure good contact with both leads of the component.
  4. Read the measurement results displayed on the OLED screen.
  5. To freeze the display, press the 'HOLD' button. Press again to release.

5.2 Test Modes

  • Automatic Mode: Automatically recognizes L/C/R and determines the condition of components. This is the default and most convenient mode for general testing.
  • Inductance Mode: Measures inductance from 1µH to 60H, suitable for high-frequency, low-power to low-frequency, high-power scenarios.
  • Capacitance Mode: Measures capacitance from 1pF to 20mF, suitable for all scenarios from high-frequency signals to power filtering.
  • Resistance Mode: Measures resistance from 10mΩ to 10MΩ, providing precise measurements for various resistors.
  • Diode Mode: Automatically detects diode polarity and measures forward voltage drop.
  • Continuity Mode: Automatically beeps to indicate the circuit's continuity status, enabling quick fault diagnosis.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the gold-plated contacts are clean for accurate measurements.

6.2 Storage

Store the DM103 in its protective carrying case when not in use. Keep it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The recommended storage environment is Temperature -20°C to 60°C, Humidity <80%.

6.3 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing for extended periods, charge the device to approximately 50% every few months.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a USB-C charger and try again.
  • Inaccurate readings:
    • Ensure the component is fully discharged and powered off.
    • Check for good contact between the tweezers and the component leads.
    • Clean the gold-plated contacts if dirty.
    • Ensure the correct test mode is selected, or use Automatic Mode.
