6. Understanding Readings and Alarms

The RD670 features an intelligent alarm system with a tri-color LED indicator and an audible alarm (which can be muted). The alarm thresholds are pre-set to indicate different risk levels.

  • Green Light: Indicates a LOW radiation risk.
  • Orange Light: Indicates a MEDIUM radiation risk.
  • Red Light: Indicates a HIGH radiation risk, accompanied by an audible alarm (if not muted).

Alarm Thresholds:

  • Electric Field (EF): High Alarm Threshold: >500 V/m
  • Magnetic Field (MF): High Alarm Threshold: >100 mG
  • Radio Frequency (RF): High Alarm Threshold: >100 mW/m²

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the casing or screen.

7.2 Battery Care

The device contains a rechargeable 1200mAh Lithium Polymer battery. For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently and store the device in a cool, dry place if not used for extended periods. Recharge using the provided USB cable.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Device Not Powering On

  • Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to a USB power source and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again.
  • Verify that the power button is pressed and held correctly.

8.2 Inaccurate or Fluctuating Readings

  • Ensure no other electronic devices are interfering with the measurement. Move away from strong magnetic or electric fields if testing for ambient levels.
  • The device is designed for close-range detection. As distance from the source increases, field strength weakens, making long-distance measurements less reliable.
  • Ensure the device is held steadily and not moved excessively during measurement.

8.3 No Sound from Alarm

  • Check if the alarm sound is muted. Press the mute button to toggle the sound on/off.
  • Ensure the detected radiation level exceeds the set alarm threshold for the respective field (EF, MF, or RF).
