3. Setup and Installation
The awning requires assembly and secure mounting. It is recommended that two strong individuals perform the installation due to the weight and size of the unit. The package includes 3 heavy-duty wall mounts for secure installation.
3.1 Pre-Installation Checks
- Verify all components are present according to the packing list.
- Ensure the mounting surface (wall) is structurally sound and capable of supporting the awning's weight.
- Measure and mark the desired installation location, ensuring sufficient clearance for extension and retraction.
3.2 Mounting the Awning
Follow the detailed diagrams provided in your physical instruction manual for precise drilling and mounting steps. Use appropriate tools for your wall type (concrete, brick, or wood). Ensure all bolts and fasteners are tightened securely, but avoid over-tightening at joints to allow for smooth movement.

4. Operating Instructions
Your Aoxun Manual Retractable Awning is operated using the included crank handle.
4.1 Extending and Retracting the Awning
- To Extend: Insert the crank handle into the designated loop on the awning mechanism. Turn the handle clockwise to extend the awning to your desired length.
- To Retract: Turn the crank handle counter-clockwise to retract the awning fully. Ensure it is fully retracted when not in use or during adverse weather conditions.

4.2 Adjusting the Awning Angle
The awning's pitch can be adjusted between 45 and 85 degrees to optimize shade coverage throughout the day. Locate the adjustment bolts on the awning arms. Use a 17mm socket to loosen the two bolts and a 14mm wrench to adjust the bolt that controls the angle. Re-tighten the bolts once the desired angle is set.

5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life and performance of your awning.
- Cleaning: Clean the fabric canopy periodically with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes that could damage the PA coating. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before retracting.
- Lubrication: Apply a fresh dab of lithium grease to the front rail track and sliding locations once per season. Use a 100% silicone spray at all moving joints to ensure smooth operation and full retraction of the arms.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect all mounting hardware, bolts, and the fabric for any signs of wear, damage, or loosening. Tighten any loose fasteners.
- Weather Protection: Always retract the awning during strong winds, heavy rain, or snow to prevent damage. Seasonal storage is recommended in areas with harsh winters.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your awning, consider the following:
- Awning not extending/retracting smoothly: Check for any obstructions in the mechanism or fabric. Ensure all moving joints are clean and adequately lubricated. Verify that fasteners at joints are not over-tightened.
- Awning sagging: Ensure the fabric is properly tensioned and the support arms are correctly aligned.
- Awning unstable: Re-check all mounting hardware for tightness. Ensure the awning is securely fastened to a robust structural surface.
