5. Setup
5.1 Initial Inspection
- Unpack the welding machine and all accessories.
- Inspect for any visible damage from shipping. Do not operate if damaged.
- Ensure the work area is clean, dry, well-ventilated, and free of flammable materials.
5.2 Power Connection
- Connect the welding machine to a suitable 240V power supply. Ensure the power outlet is properly grounded and can handle the machine's current requirements.
5.3 Ground Clamp Connection
- Attach the ground clamp securely to the workpiece or a sturdy metal workbench that is electrically connected to the workpiece. A good ground connection is crucial for safe and effective welding.
5.4 Wire Spool Installation (MIG/Flux-Core)
- Open the wire spool compartment.
- Place the appropriate 1kg or 5kg welding wire spool onto the spindle.
- Thread the wire through the wire feed mechanism, ensuring it passes through the correct groove on the wire feeding roller for the wire diameter being used.
- Close the compartment and adjust the wire tension as needed.
5.5 Gas Connection (MIG/MAG)
- For MIG/MAG welding, connect the shielding gas hose to the gas inlet on the machine and to your gas cylinder regulator.
- Ensure all connections are tight to prevent gas leaks.
- Set the gas flow rate according to your welding requirements.
6. Operating Instructions
Before operating, ensure all safety precautions are understood and followed. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a welding helmet, gloves, and protective clothing.
6.1 Selecting Welding Mode
- Turn on the machine.
- Use the control panel to select the desired welding mode: MIG/MAG (Gas), Flux-Core MIG (Gasless), MMA (Stick), or Lift-TIG.
6.2 Setting Parameters (Synergic vs. Manual)
- Synergic Mode: For MIG, select the wire diameter and gas type on the display. The machine will automatically suggest optimal current and wire feed speed. You can fine-tune these settings with the rotary knobs.
- Manual Mode: For all modes, manually adjust the current (amperage) and voltage (for MIG) using the rotary knobs on the control panel. Refer to welding charts for recommended settings based on material type and thickness.
6.3 Welding Process Overview
- MIG/MAG Welding: Ensure gas is flowing. Position the MIG torch at the correct angle to the workpiece. Press the trigger to initiate the arc and feed wire. Maintain a consistent travel speed and arc length.
- Flux-Core MIG Welding: No external gas is required. The flux in the wire provides shielding. Operate similarly to gas MIG, but adjust parameters for flux-core wire.
- MMA (Stick) Welding: Insert the electrode into the electrode holder. Strike the arc by lightly touching and then lifting the electrode from the workpiece. Maintain a consistent arc length and travel speed.
- Lift-TIG Welding: Connect the TIG torch and gas. Touch the tungsten electrode to the workpiece and then lift it slightly to initiate the arc. Maintain a short arc length and feed filler rod manually if needed.
- Spot Welding: Select spot welding mode. Position the torch. The machine will deliver a timed weld for consistent spot welds.
- Aluminum Welding (with Spool Gun): If using an optional spool gun for aluminum, connect it according to its instructions. Select the appropriate settings for aluminum wire and gas (typically Argon).

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your welding machine.
- Daily: Clean the welding torch nozzle and contact tip. Check all cables for damage.
- Weekly: Inspect the wire feed rollers for wear and cleanliness. Clean the machine's exterior with a dry cloth.
- Monthly/Quarterly: Open the machine (after disconnecting power) and use compressed air to blow out dust and metal particles from inside, especially around the fan and circuit boards. Check all electrical connections for tightness.
- Storage: Store the machine in a dry, dust-free environment when not in use.
