Setup
Initial Charging
Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard. Connect the provided USB Type-C to Type-A cable to the keyboard's USB-C port and the other end to a powered USB-A port on your computer or a USB wall adapter. The keyboard's LCD screen will indicate charging status.
Connectivity Options
The Vanguard AIR 99 supports three connectivity modes: 2.4GHz SLIPSTREAM Wireless, Bluetooth, and Wired USB.
- 2.4GHz SLIPSTREAM Wireless:
For optimal gaming performance, use the included SLIPSTREAM wireless receiver. Plug the receiver into an available USB-A port on your computer. Ensure the keyboard's mode switch is set to 2.4GHz wireless. The keyboard should automatically pair.
- Bluetooth:
To connect via Bluetooth, set the keyboard's mode switch to Bluetooth. On your device (PC, Mac, console, or mobile), navigate to Bluetooth settings and select "Corsair Vanguard AIR 99" from the list of available devices to pair.
- Wired USB:
Connect the keyboard directly to your computer using the provided USB Type-C to Type-A cable. This mode also charges the keyboard and is required for certain advanced features like Elgato Stream Deck integration.

Operating Instructions
Elgato Stream Deck Integration
The keyboard features dedicated programmable SD-keys for Elgato Stream Deck integration. These keys allow for one-touch control of various applications and functions. To utilize this feature, download and install the Elgato Stream Deck app. You can map custom commands, shortcuts, and macros to these keys. Virtual Stream Deck functionality is also available within the app for expanded control.

Vibrant LCD Screen
The integrated 1.9-inch LCD screen allows for personalization and real-time feedback. You can display custom animations, static images, or monitor keyboard settings. The multi-functional rotary dial next to the screen provides analog control for adjustments like brightness or zoom, with visual confirmation on the display.

CORSAIR OPX Low-Profile Optical Switches
The keyboard is equipped with CORSAIR OPX low-profile optical switches. These switches offer light-speed actuation and a short travel distance for rapid response. They are pre-lubricated for a smooth typing experience and have a durability rating of up to 80 million presses.
- Actuation Force: 45g
- Travel Distance: 2.5mm
- Switch Type: Linear, Optical

8000Hz Hyper-Polling
Powered by CORSAIR AXON and SLIPSTREAM v2 technology, the Vanguard AIR 99 offers an 8,000Hz hyper-polling rate. This means the keyboard reports inputs to your computer up to eight times faster than standard gaming keyboards, ensuring instantaneous response times in both wired and wireless modes.

Flashtap SOCD Technology
Flashtap SOCD (Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions) technology revolutionizes in-game movement by allowing you to choose how opposing directions are registered. This enables precise control for complex maneuvers like counter-strafing or jiggle peeking, with modes to prioritize the first or last key pressed.

Software: Corsair Web Hub & Stream Deck App
Customize your keyboard settings, RGB lighting effects, macros, and Flashtap SOCD preferences using the Corsair Web Hub. This web-based interface provides a lightweight setup without requiring a local installation. For advanced Stream Deck functionalities, including drag-and-drop actions and plugins, use the dedicated Stream Deck App.

Maintenance
Cleaning the Keyboard
To maintain the appearance and functionality of your keyboard, follow these cleaning guidelines:
- Disconnect the keyboard from its power source before cleaning.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe down the keycaps and frame.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the keyboard's finish or internal components.
- For dust and debris between keys, use compressed air.
Keycap Removal (Optional)
If you need to remove keycaps for deeper cleaning or replacement, use a keycap puller. Gently pull the keycap straight up to avoid damaging the switch stem. When reattaching, align the keycap with the switch stem and press down firmly until it clicks into place.
Troubleshooting
- Keyboard Not Responding:
Ensure the keyboard is charged. Check the connectivity mode switch (2.4GHz, Bluetooth, Wired) and ensure it matches your connection method. For wired mode, try a different USB port or cable. For wireless modes, ensure the receiver is properly connected or Bluetooth is paired.
- Wireless Connectivity Issues:
If experiencing intermittent wireless connection, ensure the keyboard is within range of the receiver/device. Avoid sources of interference (e.g., other wireless devices, large metal objects). Try re-pairing the device.
- Keys Not Registering or Double-Typing:
This can sometimes be resolved by updating the keyboard's firmware via the Corsair Web Hub. Ensure keycaps are properly seated. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
- RGB Lighting Not Working:
Check lighting settings in the Corsair Web Hub. Ensure the keyboard is not in a low-power mode that disables lighting.
- LCD Screen Issues:
If the LCD screen is not displaying correctly, try restarting the keyboard or updating its firmware. Adjust brightness settings via the rotary dial or Corsair Web Hub.
