Charging
The bug zapper offers two convenient charging methods:
- Solar Charging: The integrated solar panel on top of the unit charges the internal battery during daylight hours. For optimal performance, ensure the solar panel is clean and exposed to direct sunlight.
- USB-C Charging: For faster charging or during periods of low sunlight, use the provided Type-C USB cable to connect the device to a compatible USB power source. A full charge typically takes 3-4 hours. The charging indicator light will change from red to green when fully charged.
A full charge provides up to 12 hours of continuous operation.

Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your bug zapper:
- Power Off: Always power off the device before performing any cleaning or maintenance.
- Cleaning the Electric Grid: Use the included cleaning brush to gently remove any insect debris from the high-voltage grid. For more thorough cleaning, the device can be rinsed with water, but ensure the charging ports are covered if outdoors. Allow the unit to dry completely before turning it back on. Do not use high-pressure water directly on the unit.
- Cleaning the Solar Panel: Wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. A clean solar panel ensures efficient charging.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your bug zapper, consider the following:
- Device Not Turning On: Ensure the device is fully charged. Connect it to the USB-C charger for 3-4 hours. Verify the power button is pressed and held to turn on.
- Bug Zapper Not Attracting/Zapping Insects: Check if the UV light is active. Ensure the device is placed in an area where insects are present and away from competing light sources. Clean the electric grid if it's covered in debris.
- Short Battery Life: Ensure the solar panel is clean and receiving direct, unobstructed sunlight for several hours daily. If primarily using solar, consider supplementing with USB-C charging, especially during cloudy periods or if the device is used for extended durations in light modes.
- Lights Not Working: Cycle through the modes to ensure the desired light mode is selected. If the device is in auto mode, it will only activate at night.
