Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation and initial setup:

1. Mounting the Door Unit

  • Select a suitable location on your chicken coop for the door unit.
  • Use the provided mounting template to mark drill holes.
  • Securely attach the door unit using the supplied screws. Important: Do not overtighten the screws, as this can impede the smooth roll-up operation of the door. The door needs a slight clearance to move freely.
  • Install the solar panel in a location that receives maximum direct sunlight throughout the day. Connect it to the door unit.

2. Automatic Timer Function

Program the door to open and close automatically at specific times each day.

  • Access the timer settings via the remote control.
  • Set your desired opening time (e.g., 6:00 AM) and closing time (e.g., 7:00 PM).
  • Once set, the door will operate according to this schedule daily, providing a hands-free routine for your chickens.

3. 120° Motion Detection & Predator Alert

The integrated 120° motion sensor acts as a guardian for your coop, detecting potential threats.

  • If an animal or intruder approaches the coop within the 120° detection zone, the door unit will trigger an audible deterrent alarm.
  • Simultaneously, your remote control will emit an alert, notifying you immediately of any nocturnal visitors or unusual activity.

4. Anti-Pinch Protection

The safety of your chickens is a priority. The door is equipped with an intelligent anti-pinch function:

  • If the sensor detects a chicken or any other obstruction during the closing process, the door will immediately reverse its movement.
  • It will then wait for 10 seconds before attempting to close again. This retry process occurs up to 4 times.
  • If the obstruction remains after 4 attempts, an alarm will sound on both the door unit and the remote control.
  • The closing force is designed to be gentle, ensuring safe operation even for small chicks.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues, refer to the following troubleshooting steps:

ProblemSolution
The remote control and timer are not functioning.Ensure the remote control is correctly connected to the door unit. The blue indicator light on the door should be off, and the signal icon should be visible on the remote's screen.
The door is blocked or not opening/closing correctly.Check if the mounting screws were overtightened during installation. Excessive tightening can affect the roll-up movement and cause a blockage. Loosen the screws slightly, then retest the door.
The door is not opening or closing at the programmed time.A1: Verify that the real-time clock on the remote control matches your local time.
A2: Ensure the alarm icon on the screen is not flashing, as this generally indicates an interruption due to a low battery level.
The remote control emits a beep for approximately 20 seconds at night.Check the remote control screen. If an obstacle status icon or alarm icon is active, it means a predator or another object may have triggered the sensors.
