1. Important Safety Instructions

Always observe basic safety precautions when using electric tools to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury. Read all instructions carefully before operating this tool.

General Power Tool Safety

  • Work Area Safety: Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
  • Electrical Safety: Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
  • Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection. Use hearing protection when operating noisy tools. Dress properly; avoid loose clothing or jewelry. Secure long hair. Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool.
  • Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.

Circular Saw Specific Safety

  • Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade. Keep your second hand on the auxiliary handle, or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the blade.
  • Do not reach underneath the workpiece. The guard cannot protect you from the blade below the workpiece.
  • Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the blade should be visible below the workpiece.
  • Never hold the workpiece in your hands or across your leg while cutting. Secure the workpiece to a stable platform. It is important to support the work properly to minimize body exposure, blade binding, or loss of control.
  • Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring.
  • Use only blades with the correct size and shape of arbor holes. Blades that do not match the mounting hardware of the saw will run eccentrically, causing loss of control.
  • Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or bolt. The blade washers and bolt were specially designed for your saw, for optimum performance and safety of operation.

3. Setup

Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Check for any damage that may have occurred during transit. Ensure all listed components are present: circular saw, 24T TCT saw blade, parallel guide, and dust extraction adapter. (Note: Battery and charger are sold separately).

Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the saw is switched off and the trigger is locked.
  2. Align the battery pack (not included) with the battery port on the saw.
  3. Slide the battery pack into the port until it clicks securely into place.
  4. To remove, press the battery release button and slide the battery out.

Blade Installation

WARNING: Always disconnect the battery pack before changing the blade.

  1. Press and hold the spindle lock button.
  2. Using the provided hex key, loosen the blade retaining bolt by turning it counter-clockwise.
  3. Lift the lower blade guard and remove the outer flange and the old blade.
  4. Clean the blade flanges.
  5. Place the new 165mm TCT blade onto the spindle, ensuring the rotation arrow on the blade matches the arrow on the saw's guard.
  6. Replace the outer flange and tighten the blade retaining bolt clockwise with the hex key while holding the spindle lock button. Do not overtighten.
  7. Ensure the blade rotates freely and the lower guard operates correctly.

Attaching the Parallel Guide

  1. Locate the slot on the front of the saw's base plate.
  2. Slide the parallel guide into this slot.
  3. Adjust the guide to the desired cutting width and tighten the locking screw to secure it in place.

4. Operation

Before starting, ensure your workpiece is securely clamped and you are wearing appropriate safety gear.

Adjusting Cutting Depth

  1. Loosen the depth adjustment lever located on the side of the saw.
  2. Raise or lower the saw base to achieve the desired cutting depth. The blade should extend approximately one tooth thickness below the workpiece.
  3. Tighten the depth adjustment lever firmly to secure the setting.

Adjusting Bevel Angle

  1. Loosen the bevel adjustment lever/knob on the front of the saw.
  2. Tilt the saw base to the desired angle (up to 45°). Use the angle scale for precision.
  3. Tighten the bevel adjustment lever/knob to lock the angle.

Making a Cut

  1. Position the front of the saw's base plate flat on the workpiece, with the blade clear of the material.
  2. Press the safety switch and then squeeze the trigger to start the saw. Allow the blade to reach full speed before beginning the cut.
  3. Slowly push the saw forward along the cutting line. Maintain a steady, even pressure. Do not force the saw.
  4. Ensure the lower blade guard retracts smoothly as you cut and closes automatically upon completion.
  5. Once the cut is complete, release the trigger and allow the blade to stop completely before lifting the saw from the workpiece.

Dust Extraction

Attach the included dust extraction adapter to the dust port on the saw. Connect a suitable vacuum cleaner hose to the adapter to minimize sawdust and maintain a cleaner work environment.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your tool. Always disconnect the battery pack before performing any maintenance.

Cleaning

  • Keep the ventilation openings of the tool clean to prevent overheating.
  • Regularly clean the saw dust port and blade guard mechanism to ensure smooth operation.
  • Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from the tool. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.

Blade Care

  • Inspect the saw blade before each use for sharpness and damage. Replace dull or damaged blades immediately.
  • Clean resin and pitch buildup from the blade using a suitable blade cleaner.
  • Store blades properly to prevent damage to the teeth.
