4. Operating Instructions
4.1 First Use
- Plug the ice maker into a grounded electrical outlet. The POWER indicator will illuminate.
- Press the "ON/OFF" button to start the ice-making cycle. The unit will default to the SMALL ice size.
- The first few batches of ice may be small or irregular. Discard these initial batches as they may contain residual impurities from manufacturing.
- Allow the unit to run for several cycles to achieve optimal ice production.
4.2 Selecting Ice Size
To change the ice cube size, press the "SELECT" button. The corresponding SMALL or LARGE indicator light will illuminate.

- Ensure the unit is plugged in and the water reservoir is filled with clean water.
- Press and hold the "ON/OFF" button for approximately 5 seconds. The CLEAN indicator will illuminate, and the cleaning cycle will begin.
- The cleaning cycle typically lasts for 15 minutes. During this time, the unit will circulate water to clean internal components.
- Once the cycle is complete, drain the water from the reservoir by unplugging the unit and removing the drain plug (usually located at the bottom or side).
- Rinse the reservoir with fresh water and drain again.

Figure 5.1: Steps for activating and completing the self-cleaning cycle.
5.2 Regular Cleaning
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth.
- Clean the ice basket and ice scoop with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry before reinserting.
- For thorough internal cleaning, especially in hard water areas, perform the self-cleaning cycle monthly or more frequently. Consider using a descaling solution (e.g., a mixture of water and vinegar) during the self-cleaning cycle, followed by several fresh water rinse cycles.
