4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your KVM switch:

  1. Power Off Devices: Ensure all computers and your monitor are powered off before beginning the connection process.
  2. Connect Monitor: Connect your monitor to the OUT HDMI port on the KVM switch using a high-quality HDMI 2.1 cable.

Note: All computers and the monitor must have HDMI ports. The use of conversion cables is not supported and may lead to compatibility issues or reduced performance. For 8K@60Hz or 4K@120Hz resolutions, ensure your computers, monitor, and HDMI cables all support these specifications.

  4. Connect Computers (USB): For each computer (PC1 to PC4), connect one of the included USB 3.0 cables from a USB 3.0 port on your computer to the corresponding PC IN USB 3.0 port on the KVM switch.

Note: Each computer requires a dedicated USB 3.0 cable connection to the KVM switch for peripheral sharing.

  5. Connect USB Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, and any other USB 3.0 devices (e.g., printer, flash drive) to the USB 3.0 Ports (1-4) on the front panel of the KVM switch.
  6. Connect IR Extension (Optional): If using the IR remote control, connect the IR extension cable to the EXT IR port on the KVM switch and place the IR receiver in a location where it can receive signals from the remote.
  7. Connect Power: Connect the 12V1A power adapter to the DC12V port on the KVM switch and plug it into a power outlet.
  8. Power On: Power on the KVM switch using the ON/OFF switch, then power on your monitor and computers.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, please refer to the following troubleshooting tips:

  • USB Not Working:
    • Confirm that the USB 3.0 cable is properly connected between the computer and the KVM switch.
    • Verify that the computer's USB port is functioning correctly.
    • Ensure that the latest USB drivers are installed on the computer.
  • Display Has No Image:
    • Confirm that the KVM switch is powered on and the correct input (PC1-PC4) is selected.
    • Verify that the HDMI cables are securely connected between the computers and the KVM switch, and between the KVM switch and the monitor.
    • Ensure that the HDMI cables used are high-quality and support the desired resolution (e.g., 8K or 4K120Hz).
    • Avoid using conversion cables; direct HDMI connections are recommended.
    • If an adapter is necessary, use an active adapter.
    • Check your monitor's input source settings to ensure it is set to the correct HDMI input.
  • Intermittent Display or Flickering:
    • Ensure all HDMI cables are certified for the resolution and refresh rate you are using. Longer cables may require active repeaters or higher quality.
    • Verify the power adapter is securely connected and providing stable power to the KVM switch.
    • Reduce the resolution or refresh rate temporarily to see if the issue persists.
