Setup and Installation

This fan is designed for flush mount installation. Professional installation is recommended if you are not experienced with electrical wiring.

1. Prepare for Installation

  • Turn off power at the main circuit breaker.
  • Ensure the junction box is securely mounted and capable of supporting the fan's weight.
  • Unpack all components and lay them out on a soft surface to prevent scratches.

2. Install Mounting Bracket

Attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling junction box using the screws and washers provided. Ensure it is firmly secured.

3. Assemble Fan Blades

Attach the palm-shaped ABS fan blades to the motor housing. Ensure all screws are tightened securely.

4. Wiring the Fan

Connect the fan's electrical wires to the household wiring according to the wiring diagram in the separate wiring guide (if provided) or standard electrical practices. Use the provided wire nuts to secure connections. Ensure all connections are tight and insulated.

  • Connect the black (hot) wire from the ceiling to the black wire from the fan.
  • Connect the white (neutral) wire from the ceiling to the white wire from the fan.
  • Connect the green or bare copper (ground) wire from the ceiling to the green or bare copper wire from the fan.
  • Carefully tuck all wires into the junction box.

5. Secure Fan to Mounting Bracket

Carefully lift the fan assembly and attach it to the mounting bracket. Ensure all screws are tightened to prevent the fan from falling.

6. Install Light Kit

Connect the light kit wires to the corresponding wires from the fan motor assembly. Secure the light kit to the fan housing. Install the LED light panel and diffuser cover.

Operating Instructions

Your Surtime 8968 ceiling fan is operated by a remote control. Ensure the remote has fresh batteries installed.

Remote Control Functions:

  • Power Button (⏻): Turns the fan and light ON or OFF.
  • Fan Speed Buttons (1-6): Adjusts the fan speed from 1 (lowest) to 6 (highest).
