5.2 Battery Management
The camera operates on 8x AA batteries. For optimal performance and longevity, use high-quality alkaline or rechargeable AA batteries. Replace all batteries simultaneously when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
5.3 Cleaning
Regularly clean the camera lens and PIR sensor window with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear images and proper motion detection. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
6. Troubleshooting
- Camera not powering on: Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with proper polarity and are fully charged. Check if the power switch is in 'TEST' or 'ON' position.
- Poor image/video quality: Clean the camera lens. Ensure the camera is mounted securely to prevent movement. Check settings for appropriate resolution.
- No motion detection: Verify the PIR sensor is unobstructed. Adjust trigger sensitivity in the settings. Ensure the camera is in 'ON' mode, not 'TEST' mode.
- SD card error: Ensure the SD card is properly inserted. Format the SD card using the camera's menu (this will erase all data). Try a different compatible SD card if the issue persists.
- Short battery life: Use high-quality alkaline or rechargeable batteries. Reduce the frequency of captures or video length in settings. Extreme cold weather can also reduce battery performance.
