5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

The device requires two AAA 1.5V batteries.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off

Press and hold the red Power button to turn the device on or off.

6.2. Unit Selection

With the device powered on, press the UNIT button repeatedly to cycle through the available measurement units: Newtons (N), Kilograms (kg), Pounds (Lb), and Ounces (Oz).

6.3. Zeroing the Display

Before taking a measurement, ensure no force is applied to the sensor. Press the ZERO button to reset the display to 0.00. This compensates for any minor offsets.

6.4. Taking a Measurement

Apply the force to be measured to the attached probe. The current force will be displayed on the screen.

For push measurements, apply force directly onto the probe. For pull measurements, use the hook attachment.

6.5. Peak Hold Function

Press the PEAK button to activate peak hold mode. The display will show the maximum force recorded during the measurement cycle. Press PEAK again to exit this mode and return to real-time measurement.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in its protective carrying case in a dry, cool environment when not in use. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
  • Calibration: Regular calibration by a qualified technician is recommended to maintain accuracy, especially for critical applications.
