4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the safety and performance of the distribution box. Always ensure power is disconnected before starting.
4.1 Mounting the Enclosure
- Select a suitable mounting location that is flat, stable, and accessible, considering environmental factors for outdoor installations.
- Use the provided mounting screws and wall anchors. Mark the drilling points on the wall using the enclosure as a template.
- Drill holes, insert wall anchors, and securely fasten the distribution box to the wall.
4.2 Installing MCBs and Wiring
- Open the transparent cover by releasing the double clips.
- Install miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) onto the integrated DIN rail. Ensure they are securely clipped into place.
- Route incoming and outgoing cables through the appropriate cable glands. Tighten the glands to ensure an IP66 seal.
- Connect the live wires to the MCBs. Connect neutral wires to the blue busbar and ground wires to the green busbar. Ensure all connections are tight.
- Verify all wiring is correct and secure according to electrical diagrams and local regulations.
4.3 Securing the Enclosure
- Once all wiring is complete and checked, close the transparent cover, ensuring the double clips engage fully to maintain the IP66 seal.
- For added security, an optional padlock can be installed through the pre-drilled hole on the cover.

5. Operating Instructions
Once properly installed and wired by a qualified professional, the Mollom HA-24 Power Distribution Box operates passively as a protective enclosure for your electrical components. Its primary function is to safely house and distribute power through the installed MCBs.
- Power On/Off: The individual MCBs inside the box control the power to specific circuits. Operate these circuit breakers as needed.
- Maintain Closure: Always ensure the transparent cover is securely closed using the double clips to maintain the IP66 rating and protect internal components from environmental elements and unauthorized access.
- Visual Inspection: Periodically check the transparent cover for any signs of damage or compromise to the seal.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and continued safe operation of your distribution box.
- Periodic Inspection: At least once a year, or more frequently in harsh environments, visually inspect the enclosure for any cracks, damage, or signs of wear. Check the integrity of the cable glands and the cover seal.
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the box with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the ABS plastic or PC cover. Ensure the cover remains clear for visibility of internal components.
- Internal Check (by qualified personnel): If an internal inspection is required, ensure power is disconnected. Check for loose connections, corrosion, or signs of overheating on wires and terminals.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter. For complex electrical problems, always consult a qualified electrician.
- Water or Dust Inside Enclosure:
- Check if the transparent cover is fully closed and the double clips are engaged.
- Inspect the rubber gasket around the cover for damage or misalignment.
- Ensure all cable glands are properly tightened and sealed around the cables.
- MCB Tripping Frequently:
- This indicates an electrical fault (overload or short circuit) in the connected circuit. Consult a qualified electrician to diagnose and resolve the underlying issue.
- Loose Connections:
- If you suspect loose wiring, immediately disconnect power and have a qualified electrician inspect and tighten all terminal connections.
