Safety Information

Please read all safety instructions carefully before installing and operating the fan. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Ensure all electrical connections are secure and properly insulated, especially for outdoor use.
  • Do not immerse the fan or solar panels in water. The fan has an IP44 rating for weather resistance, but it is not submersible.
  • Keep hands, hair, and loose clothing away from moving fan blades.
  • Mount the fan securely to prevent it from falling.
  • Do not attempt to repair or modify the unit yourself. Contact qualified service personnel for repairs.
  • Keep children and pets away from the fan during operation.

Setup and Installation

The ecoCalm solar fan offers versatile mounting options including wall, ceiling, or floor placement. Choose a location that receives ample direct sunlight for the solar panels and provides optimal airflow for the fan.

1. Solar Panel Placement

Position the two solar panels in an area that receives maximum direct sunlight throughout the day. Ensure they are angled to capture sunlight efficiently. The bifacial panels are designed to generate power from both sides.

2. Fan Mounting

Securely mount the fan using the provided screw set. The fan can be installed as a wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted, or floor-standing unit. Ensure the mounting surface is sturdy enough to support the fan's weight.

3. Wiring Connections

Connect the two solar panels to the Y-branch cord, then connect the Y-branch cord to the solar power bank/controller. Finally, connect the load cord from the controller to the fan unit. Ensure all connections are tight and waterproof.

Operating Instructions

The ecoCalm fan features a smart thermostat and multiple speed settings for optimal comfort.

1. Power On/Off

Press the power button on the controller to turn the fan on or off. The display will illuminate, showing current settings.

2. Adjusting Fan Speed

The fan has 3 speed settings. Use the fan speed button on the controller to cycle through the available speeds (Low, Medium, High).

3. Smart Thermostat Operation

The adjustable thermostat allows the fan to automatically turn on and off based on a set temperature. This feature helps maintain a consistent comfortable environment and conserves battery life.

  • To set the target temperature, long-press the '+' button until the temperature display flashes.
  • Use the '+' or '-' buttons to adjust the desired auto-on temperature.
  • Once the ambient temperature rises above the set temperature, the fan will activate. It will turn off when the temperature drops below the set point.
  • Important Note: If the battery is fully depleted and the fan shuts down, a manual restart is required after the battery has sufficiently recharged (at least 2 bars). The fan will not restart automatically in this scenario.

4. Adjusting Fan Tilt

The fan head can be tilted up to 180 degrees to direct airflow precisely where needed. Loosen the adjustment knobs on the side of the fan, position the fan head, and then tighten the knobs to secure it.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ecoCalm solar fan.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the fan blades and grille with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Ensure the fan is turned off and disconnected from the solar panels before cleaning.
  • Solar Panels: Keep solar panels clean from dirt, leaves, and snow to maximize charging efficiency. Use a soft brush or cloth and water for cleaning.
  • Connections: Regularly check all cable connections for tightness and signs of wear or damage. Ensure they remain waterproof.
  • Storage: If storing the fan for an extended period, ensure the battery is fully charged before storage. Store in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Fan does not turn on.
  • Battery is depleted.
  • Insufficient sunlight for solar panels.
  • Loose or incorrect wiring connections.
  • Fan is in auto-off mode (thermostat).
  • Allow solar panels to charge the battery for several hours in direct sunlight.
  • Ensure solar panels are clean and positioned for maximum sun exposure.
  • Check all cable connections between panels, controller, and fan.
  • Verify thermostat setting; if ambient temperature is below set point, fan will remain off.
  • If battery was fully depleted, manually restart the fan after sufficient charge (at least 2 bars).
Fan runs for a short period only.
  • Battery not fully charged.
  • High fan speed setting.
  • Cloudy weather or low sunlight.
  • Ensure panels receive adequate sunlight for full charge.
  • Reduce fan speed to extend operating time (e.g., lowest speed offers up to 20 hours).
  • Operating time will be reduced during periods of low sunlight.
Fan does not automatically restart after battery depletion. This is expected behavior. After the battery is fully depleted and the fan shuts down, a manual restart is required once the battery has recharged to at least 2 bars.
