1. Introduction

The Sainlogic Home Weather Station SA8 is a professional wireless weather monitoring system designed to provide accurate and comprehensive weather data for your home or garden. This station features a large, easy-to-read 7.5-inch color display that shows indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall, barometric pressure, moon phases, and a weather forecast icon. Its wireless outdoor sensor transmits data reliably, ensuring you stay informed about local weather conditions.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

Before installation, ensure you have the required batteries (not included).

Insert batteries into both the outdoor sensor and the display console, observing correct polarity.

3.2 Outdoor Sensor Mounting

The outdoor sensor can be mounted in various ways to suit your location. Choose a location that is open and free from obstructions to ensure accurate readings for wind, rain, and temperature. Ensure the rain gauge is level for precise rainfall measurement.

Mounting options include:

Use the included mounting pole, nuts, bolts, and tapping screws as appropriate for your chosen installation method. Ensure the sensor is securely fastened to withstand wind and other weather conditions.

3.3 Display Console Power-Up and Synchronization

Connect the power adapter to the display console and plug it into an electrical outlet. The console will power on and begin searching for the outdoor sensor. Ensure the outdoor sensor is within range for successful wireless transmission. Synchronization typically occurs automatically within a few minutes.

4. Operation

4.1 Display Overview

The 7.5-inch high-contrast color screen provides a clear and comprehensive view of all weather data. The display is organized to show various parameters at a glance.

4.2 Backlight Adjustment

The display console features a manual 3-level backlight adjustment to ensure clear visibility in various lighting conditions.

To adjust the backlight, press the LIGHT/SNOOZE button located on the top of the console. Each press cycles through the brightness levels (100%, 60%, 20%) or turns the backlight off.

5. Calibration

For optimal accuracy, you may need to calibrate certain sensors. This process allows you to adjust the readings to match a known reference or local conditions.

5.1 Temperature Calibration

  1. In normal mode, press and hold the SET and CHANNEL/+ buttons simultaneously for five seconds to enter temperature calibration mode. The indoor temperature will flash.
  2. Press CHANNEL/+ or MAX/MIN/- to increase or decrease the temperature reading in 0.1 increments. Hold the button for three seconds for rapid adjustment.
  3. Press the ALARM button to reset the current value.
  4. Press the SET button to move to outdoor temperature calibration.
  5. To exit calibration, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button. If no operation is performed, the mode will exit after 30 seconds.

5.2 Humidity Calibration

  1. In normal mode, press and hold the SET and MAX/MIN/- buttons simultaneously for five seconds to enter humidity calibration mode.
  2. Follow the same adjustment and exit steps as for temperature calibration.

5.3 Pressure, Wind, Rain, and Sunlight Calibration

  1. In normal mode, press and hold the SET and ALARM buttons simultaneously for five seconds to enter this calibration mode. The letters "CAL" will appear.
  2. Press the SET button repeatedly to cycle through the sensors (Absolute Pressure, Relative Pressure, Wind Speed, Rainfall, Sunlight).
  3. Absolute Pressure Calibration: When "ABS" is displayed and the absolute pressure value flashes, use CHANNEL/+ or MAX/MIN/- to adjust the value (default 0.00 inHg). Press ALARM to reset.
  4. Relative Pressure Calibration: After absolute pressure, press SET again. When "REL" is displayed and the relative pressure value flashes, adjust as above (default 0.00 inHg).
  5. Wind Speed Calibration: After pressure, press SET again. The wind speed value will flash (default 1.00). Adjust the calibration factor from 0.75 to 1.25 using CHANNEL/+ or MAX/MIN/-. Calibration speed = factor x measured speed.
  6. Rainfall Calibration: After wind speed, press SET again. The rainfall value will flash (default 1.00). Adjust the calibration factor from 0.75 to 1.25 using CHANNEL/+ or MAX/MIN/-. Calibration rain = factor x measured rain.
  7. Sunlight Calibration: After rainfall, press SET again. The sunlight value will flash (default 1.00). Adjust the calibration factor from 0.75 to 1.25 using CHANNEL/+ or MAX/MIN/-. Calibration sunlight = factor x measured sunlight.
  8. To exit calibration, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button. If no operation is performed, the mode will exit after 30 seconds.
