Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your drip irrigation system.

  • Check for Leaks: Periodically inspect all connections and tubing for any signs of leaks. Tighten connections or replace damaged components as needed.
  • Clean Nozzles: Over time, mineral deposits or debris can clog nozzles. Remove and clean them regularly to maintain consistent water flow.
  • Filter Cleaning: If your water source has sediment, check and clean any inline filters to prevent clogging of the system.
  • Winterization: Before the first frost, disconnect the system from the faucet, drain all water from the tubing and timer, and store the timer indoors to prevent freezing damage.

Troubleshooting

  • Low Water Pressure:
    • Ensure your faucet is fully open.
    • Check for kinks or blockages in the mainline tubing.
    • Clean any filters in the system.
    • If using many emitters, consider reducing the number per zone or increasing the water supply pressure if possible.
  • No Water Flow:
    • Verify the water timer is set to 'AUTO' or 'MANUAL' and has sufficient battery power (if applicable).
    • Check that the faucet is open.
    • Inspect tubing for severe kinks or cuts.
  • Timer Not Functioning:
    • Replace batteries if the display is dim or unresponsive.
    • Ensure programming steps were followed correctly.
    • Check for any error codes on the LCD display and consult the timer's specific manual if available.
  • Leaking Connections:
    • Ensure all fast-plug connections are fully inserted and sealed.
    • Check for damaged O-rings or connectors and replace if necessary.
