5. Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps carefully for proper assembly. It is recommended to have at least two people for assembly. Ensure you have all parts listed in Section 4 before starting.
Assembly Steps:
- Prepare the Site: Choose a level, clear area for the carport. Ensure adequate space for the 20x20 FT footprint and surrounding access.
- Assemble the Base Frame: Connect the base frame components (e.g., C02C, C02J, C02G, C02I, C02Q, C02R, C30A) as per the included diagram in your physical manual, using the specified screws (S74) and nuts (M25).
- Erect Vertical Supports: Attach the vertical support beams (C01B) to the assembled base frame. Secure them firmly.
- Install Wall Frames: Connect the various wall frame components (e.g., C03B, C05H, C05L, C07N, C08H, C08M, C08G, C08P, C08J, C08K) to create the side walls.
- Attach Wall Panels: Secure the wall panels (e.g., C22W, C04X) to the wall frames. Ensure panels are oriented correctly (e.g., holes facing upward for door frames).
- Assemble Roof Structure: Construct the roof support framework using components like C11G, C09H, C20B, C21D, C20F, C17C, C09E, C09F, C13G, C13L, C14X, C18F, C18L, C19G.
- Attach Gable End Panels: Secure the gable end panels (C10G, C10H) to the ends of the roof structure, incorporating any vents (D384L, D384R, J211).
- Install Roof Panels: Place and secure the roof panels (C01G, C12D, C12E, C12F) onto the roof framework. Ensure proper overlap and sealing for weather resistance.
- Assemble and Install Doors: Assemble the door panels (C15C, C14Y, C14K, C15D, C15E) with their respective frames (D380, C04W, C04X, C04G, C04Z) and hinges (H170, D354). Attach the door latches (H145) and handles (H147). Install the complete door assemblies onto the carport structure.
- Secure Canopy: Drape the 160G triple-layer PE canopy over the assembled frame. Secure it tightly using the provided tensioners and straps to prevent flapping in the wind.
- Ground Anchoring: Use the ground anchors (J156) to firmly secure the entire carport structure to the ground.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Opening and Closing Doors
- To open, unlatch the door(s) and roll them upwards. Secure the rolled-up doors using the provided straps to maintain an open position.
- To close, unfasten the straps, unroll the doors, and secure them with the latches.
6.2 Ventilation
- The dual roll-up doors allow for adjustable ventilation. Open one or both doors partially or fully to control airflow.
- The gable vents (D384L, D384R, J211) provide continuous passive ventilation.

7. Maintenance
- Canopy Cleaning: Clean the PE canopy periodically with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the material.
- Frame Inspection: Regularly check all frame connections, bolts, and screws for tightness. Tighten any loose fasteners.
- Snow Removal: In snowy conditions, clear snow from the roof promptly to prevent excessive weight accumulation and potential collapse.
- Anchoring: Periodically check the ground anchors (J156) to ensure they remain secure, especially after strong winds.
- Fabric Integrity: Inspect the canopy for any tears, punctures, or signs of wear. Repair small damages promptly to prevent them from worsening.
8. Troubleshooting
- Issue: Canopy sags or collects water.
- Solution: Ensure the frame is correctly assembled and all tensioners are properly tightened. Check for any bent frame components.
- Issue: Doors do not open/close smoothly.
- Solution: Inspect door rails (H164) for obstructions or damage. Lubricate hinges (H170) if necessary. Adjust door parallelism as shown in Step 29 of assembly.
- Issue: Structure feels unstable in wind.
- Solution: Verify all ground anchors (J156) are fully secured. Ensure all frame connections are tight. Consider adding additional anchoring in extremely windy areas.
