4. Setup
4.1 What's Included

Note: A stable 2.4GHz WiFi network and 4 new AA (1.5V) alkaline batteries are required but not included.
4.2 App Installation
- Connect your smartphone to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Search for "RainPoint Home" on the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), or scan the QR code in the Quick Start Guide to download the app.
- Register a new account or log in with an existing one.
4.3 Gateway Connection
- Power on the Wi-Fi Gateway using the Type-C USB cable. Place it close to your Wi-Fi router and the timer for initial setup.
- Press and hold the button on the gateway until the Wi-Fi connecting indicator light flashes BLUE quickly.
- Open the RainPoint Home app, select "Add Device", find "HWG040WLBRF" (or scan the code), and follow the in-app instructions to complete the connection.
4.4 Timer Connection to Gateway
- Insert 4 new AA alkaline batteries into the battery compartment of the timer.
- In the RainPoint Home app, tap the gateway icon on the homepage, then tap "Add Device", and then "Add New Devices".
- Find and select "HTV245FRF" from the list of devices.
- Press and hold the button on the timer until the RED LED indicator flashes rapidly (2 times per second).
- Click "Next" in the app, and it will automatically pair the timer with the gateway.
4.5 Physical Installation
- Attach the timer to your outdoor faucet. Hand-tighten only to prevent damage.
- Connect your garden hoses to the left (L) and right (R) outlets of the timer.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Setting Watering Plans
The RainPoint Home app allows you to create customized watering schedules for each zone.
- Open the app and select your timer.
- Navigate to the "Plan" section.
- Choose a watering mode: Normal Irrigation, Cycle & Soak, or Misting Irrigation.
- Set the start time, duration, and frequency (every day, odd days, even days, interval, or custom days).
- Save your plan. You can set up to 6 watering plans per zone.

5.2 Manual Watering
You can manually water without interrupting your established schedules.
- Via Timer Button: Press the button on the timer for a quick 10-minute watering session.
- Via App: Use the "Manual" section in the app to set a custom duration from 1 minute to 12 hours.

Delay watering for 24, 48, or 72 hours directly from the app to prevent overwatering during rainy periods.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Replacement
When the app sends a low battery alert, replace the 4 AA alkaline batteries in the timer promptly to ensure uninterrupted operation.
6.2 Cleaning the Filter
The built-in metal filter helps prevent clogging. Regularly check and clean the filter to maintain optimal water flow and prevent interference with valve operation.

- Gateway is disconnected or offline: Check if the router is functioning properly. Ensure the gateway is powered on and the Ethernet indicator is flashing. If not, power cycle the gateway. Ensure the gateway is within range of the router and timer.
- Timer cannot connect: Check if the Wi-Fi network environment is functioning properly. Ensure the timer is within range of the gateway. Try resetting the timer by pressing and holding the button until the LED flashes rapidly, then re-pair via the app.
- Unable to open the valve: Replace batteries if low. Clean any debris from the filter. Wait a moment and try opening the valve again.
