2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Package Contents

Ensure all components are present before beginning installation:

2.2 Mounting the Device

The device comes with mounting brackets and tools for easy installation on your motorcycle handlebar. The bracket system ensures a stable and secure fit.

  1. Choose the appropriate thickness of silicone pads based on your motorcycle handlebar diameter (12mm, 22mm, 25.4mm, or 28mm). Stack pads if necessary for a snug fit.
  2. Attach the metal mount to the handlebar using a Phillips screwdriver.
  3. Secure the connecting rod to the metal mount.
  4. Insert the W603DT device and adjust its position as desired. Tighten the adjustment ring to secure it.
  5. Installation is complete.

2.3 Wiring Connection

The W603DT requires connection to your motorcycle's battery for power. The Type-C port is for manufacturer debugging only and does not support power input.

  1. Connect the power cord to the W603DT unit.
  2. Connect the red power wire to the motorcycle battery's positive terminal (ACC).
  3. Connect the black ground wire to the motorcycle battery's negative terminal.
  4. Connect the front camera cable to the designated port on the W603DT.
  5. Connect the rear camera cable to the designated port on the W603DT.
  6. Connect the wire controller cable to its port on the W603DT.

2.4 TPMS Sensor Installation and Pairing

The TPMS system monitors tire pressure and temperature in real-time.

  1. Unscrew the valve cap from your tire.
  2. Rotate the nut counter-clockwise onto the valve stem.
  3. Screw the TPMS sensor onto the valve stem.
  4. Check for air leaks using soapy water.

To pair the TPMS sensors:

  1. Open the Settings menu on the W603DT and check the system software version to confirm TPMS support.
  2. Access the tire pressure monitoring interface.
  3. Change the vehicle mode (e.g., 2 wheels for a motorcycle).
  4. Connect all current sensors step-by-step.
  5. Enter the pairing codes for the two sensors to complete the connection.
  6. Set optional custom alarm settings for tire pressure monitoring.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto

Connect your smartphone wirelessly to the W603DT to access navigation, music, calls, and other phone functions directly on the screen. Voice control via Google Assistant or Siri is supported.

For Apple CarPlay:

  1. Open CarPlay on the W603DT screen.
  2. On your iPhone, search for the W603DT Bluetooth device (e.g., "carpuride-xxxx") and pair.
  3. Confirm the connection on your iPhone by tapping "Allow" and "Use CarPlay."
  4. The connection is successful.

For Android Auto:

  1. Open Android Auto on the W603DT screen.
  2. Find available devices on your Android phone.
  3. Add a new CARPURIDE device (e.g., "carpuride-xxxx") and tap "Pair."
  4. The connection is successful.

Compatibility Notes:

  • CarPlay requires an iPhone with iOS 6 or later, CarPlay system activation, and Siri enabled.
  • Android Auto requires a phone that supports Wi-Fi at 5 GHz, Android 11 or later, and the latest Android Auto app version.
  • Not compatible with Huawei phones or phones running HarmonyOS.

3.2 Bluetooth Audio

Enhance your riding experience by connecting your smartphone and Bluetooth-enabled earphones or helmet to the W603DT.

  1. Connect your phone to your headset or helmet via Bluetooth.
  2. After your phone is wirelessly connected to the W603DT via CarPlay or Android Auto.
  3. Enter CarPlay or Android Auto and play audio or make calls through your Bluetooth headset or helmet.

Note: Ensure your Bluetooth headset or helmet has microphones for phone calls and voice commands.

3.3 Dash Cam Operation

The W603DT features dual 1080P 30FPS HD cameras with a 140° wide-angle view for front and rear recording. A 64GB TF card is included for storage.

  • In DVR mode, the screen supports split-screen viewing, allowing simultaneous display of front and rear camera feeds.
  • When the TF card is full, older videos are automatically overwritten, and recording continues in a loop.

3.4 Wired Controller

The wired controller allows for quick access to various functions without taking your hands off the handlebars.

  • Cycle Button: Switch between the rear camera screen, home screen, and current interface.
  • Photo Button: Take photos.
  • Home Button: Return to the home screen.
  • Answer phone calls and save videos.

Note: When using an Android phone connected to the W603DT, the handlebar button does not support answering incoming calls.

3.5 Screen Rotation

The W603DT supports screen rotation to optimize viewing based on your preference or navigation needs.

  • To rotate the screen, click the "Screen Rotation" button in the settings. The device will automatically shut down and restart after 5-8 seconds.
  • When installing the camera, check its orientation on the display. If the image is inverted, loosen the screws, rotate the camera to the correct direction, then tighten the screws.

4. Maintenance

The W603DT is designed for durability and performance in various conditions.

  • Waterproof Design: The device has an IP67 waterproof rating, ensuring reliable performance in heavy rain.
  • Temperature Resistance: It operates effectively in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 80°C.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the screen and device body. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the device in a cool, dry place.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the power cable is correctly connected to the motorcycle battery's positive (ACC) and negative terminals. The Type-C port is for debugging only and does not provide power.
  • CarPlay/Android Auto not connecting:
    • Verify your smartphone meets the compatibility requirements (iOS 6+ for CarPlay, Android 11+ with 5GHz Wi-Fi for Android Auto).
    • Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your phone.
    • Check that your phone is not a Huawei device or running HarmonyOS, as these are not compatible.
    • Restart both the W603DT and your smartphone.
  • Dash Cam recording issues:
    • Ensure the 64GB TF card is properly inserted.
    • Check if the card is full; older videos are automatically overwritten.
    • Verify camera cables are securely connected.
  • TPMS sensors not pairing:
    • Confirm the system software version supports TPMS.
    • Ensure sensors are correctly installed on the valve stems.
    • Follow the pairing procedure carefully, entering the correct codes.
  • Screen image inverted (after camera installation): Loosen the camera screws, rotate the camera to the correct orientation, then tighten the screws.
