VOERJIA Cordless Mini Chainsaw 6" & 8" Instruction Manual

Model: YL-DJ-C01

1. Important Safety Instructions

Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

General Safety Warnings

  • Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
  • Electrical Safety: Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
  • Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection (goggles), hearing protection, and sturdy gloves. Use a dust mask if operating in dusty conditions. Dress properly; do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.
  • Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
  • Battery Tool Use and Care: Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs.
  • Service: Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Chainsaw Specific Safety Warnings

  • Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain when the chainsaw is operating. Before you start the chainsaw, make sure the saw chain is not contacting anything. A moment of inattention while operating chainsaws may cause entanglement of your clothing or body with the saw chain.
  • Always hold the chainsaw with both hands when operating. Holding the chainsaw with one hand may result in loss of control and serious personal injury.
  • Wear safety glasses and hearing protection. Further protective equipment for head, hands, legs, and feet is recommended. Adequate protective clothing will reduce personal injury from flying debris or accidental contact with the saw chain.
  • Do not operate a chainsaw in a tree. Operation of a chainsaw while up in a tree may result in personal injury.
  • Maintain proper footing and operate the chainsaw only when standing on a fixed, secure, and level surface. Slippery or unstable surfaces such as ladders may cause a loss of balance or control of the chainsaw.
  • When cutting a limb that is under tension, be alert for spring back. When the wood fiber tension is released, the spring-loaded limb may strike the operator and/or throw the chainsaw out of control.
  • Use extreme caution when cutting brush and saplings. The slender material may catch the saw chain and be whipped toward you or pull you off balance.
  • Carry the chainsaw by the front handle with the chainsaw stopped and away from your body. When transporting or storing the chainsaw, always fit the guide bar cover. Proper handling of the chainsaw will reduce the likelihood of accidental contact with the moving saw chain.
  • Follow instructions for lubricating, chain tensioning, and changing accessories. Improperly tensioned or lubricated chains can lead to premature wear or kickback.
  • Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Greasy, oily handles are slippery, causing loss of control.
  • Kickback: Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar touches an object, or when the wood closes in and pinches the saw chain in the cut. Avoid kickback by being aware of the guide bar tip and avoiding contact with logs, branches, or other obstructions.

3. Setup and Assembly

3.1 Battery Charging

The chainsaw is powered by 4.0Ah lithium-ion batteries. Ensure batteries are fully charged before first use.

  1. Insert the battery into the charger.
  2. Plug the charger into a standard power outlet.
  3. Allow approximately 3.5 hours for a full charge. The charger indicator light will change to indicate a full charge.
  4. Once charged, disconnect the charger from the outlet and remove the battery.

3.2 Guide Bar and Chain Installation/Tensioning

The chainsaw features tool-free tensioning for easy adjustment and replacement of the guide bar and chain.

  1. Ensure the battery is removed from the chainsaw for safety.
  2. Select the desired guide bar (6" or 8") and a matching chain.
  3. Place the chain around the guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges face the correct direction.
  4. Align the chain and guide bar with the chainsaw's drive sprocket and mounting studs.
  5. Rotate the bar tightening knob (as shown in Figure 3.2) to secure the guide bar and tension the chain. The chain should be snug but still able to be pulled freely by hand around the guide bar.
  6. Check chain tension regularly during operation and adjust as needed.

3.3 Automatic Oiling System

The chainsaw is equipped with an automatic oiling system to ensure continuous lubrication of the chain and guide bar.

  1. Locate the oil tank cap (visible on the chainsaw body).
  2. Unscrew the cap and fill the 180ml oil tank with appropriate chainsaw bar and chain oil (oil not included).
  3. Monitor the oil level through the semi-transparent window and refill as necessary to prevent dry running.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Starting the Chainsaw

The chainsaw features a dual-control switch for enhanced safety.

  1. Ensure the battery is securely inserted into the chainsaw.
  2. Hold the chainsaw firmly with one hand on the non-slip safety handle.
  3. Press and hold the safety lock button (protection switch).

4.2 Cutting Techniques

Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including goggles, gloves, and hearing protection.

  • Wood Cutting: For general wood cutting, ensure the workpiece is stable. Apply steady, even pressure. Allow the chainsaw to do the work; do not force it.
  • Branch Pruning: When pruning branches, identify the direction of tension. Make relief cuts to prevent pinching and kickback. Support the branch to avoid tearing bark.
  • Bamboo Cutting: Bamboo can be fibrous. Ensure the chain is sharp and make clean cuts.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your chainsaw.

5.1 Chain Lubrication

The automatic oiling system keeps the chain lubricated. Regularly check the oil level in the 180ml visible oil tank and refill with appropriate chainsaw bar and chain oil as needed.

5.2 Chain Sharpening

A dull chain reduces cutting efficiency and increases the risk of kickback. Use the included sharpening rod to maintain chain sharpness. Refer to specific chain sharpening guidelines for your chain type.

5.3 Cleaning

  • Always remove the battery before cleaning.
  • Clean the chainsaw body with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Remove sawdust and debris from the guide bar groove and around the sprocket.
  • Ensure the air vents are clear of obstructions to prevent overheating.

5.4 Battery Care

  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Do not store batteries in a discharged state for extended periods.
  • The intelligent control board provides multi-layer protection against overheating, overcharging, and short circuits.
