Maintenance

Cleaning the Pull-Out Tray

The pull-out tray is made of durable plastic and is washable. Simply slide it out, empty any contents, and wash with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry before reinserting.

General Cleaning

Wipe down the metal and wood surfaces of the kennel with a damp cloth and mild, pet-safe cleaner as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish. Ensure the kennel is completely dry before your pet re-enters.

Troubleshooting

  • Dog not using the kennel: Introduce the kennel gradually. Place familiar bedding or toys inside. Never force your dog into the kennel. Positive reinforcement with treats and praise can help.
  • Tray design concerns: The pull-out tray is designed for easy cleaning. For added comfort, place a soft blanket or dog bed on top of the metal grate inside the kennel.
  • Dog attempting to escape: Ensure all locks are securely engaged. For persistent escape artists, consider additional training or consultation with a professional dog trainer. The open roof design may allow some agile dogs to climb out; consider adding a secure cover if this is an issue.
  • Wobbly kennel: Check all assembly hardware to ensure screws and bolts are tightened. If the issue persists, disassemble and reassemble carefully, ensuring all pieces are correctly aligned.
