Setup
Initial Winding
As an automatic watch, the PD1820 is powered by the motion of your wrist. However, for the first use or after a period of inactivity, manual winding is recommended to ensure sufficient power reserve.
- Unscrew the crown (if it's a screw-down crown) by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Gently pull the crown out to position 1 (for winding).
- Rotate the crown clockwise 20-30 times. This will build up the initial power reserve.
- Push the crown back in and screw it down clockwise to ensure water resistance.
Setting Time and Date
- Unscrew the crown (if applicable) and pull it out to position 2 (for date setting).
- Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement.
- Pull the crown out to position 3 (for time setting). The second hand will stop.
- Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To ensure accurate AM/PM setting, advance the hands past 12 o'clock; if the date changes, you are in the AM hours.
- Once the time is set, push the crown back to position 0 and screw it down tightly to maintain water resistance.

Adjusting the Strap
The watch is available with either a leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet. For leather straps, adjust the buckle to fit your wrist comfortably. For stainless steel bracelets, a strap adjustment tool (included with the watch) may be used to remove or add links for a proper fit. If you are unsure, consult a professional watchmaker.
Operating Your Watch
Automatic Movement
Your Pagani Design PD1820 watch is equipped with a Japanese 8220A automatic movement. This movement is self-winding, meaning it gains power from the natural motion of your arm. When worn daily, the watch will maintain its power reserve. If the watch is not worn for an extended period (approximately 40 hours of power reserve), it may stop and require manual winding as described in the 'Initial Winding' section.
Unidirectional Rotating Bezel
The watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel, which turns only counter-clockwise. This feature is useful for timing events, such as dives or elapsed time. To use it, align the bezel's zero marker with the minute hand at the start of an event. The minute hand's position on the bezel will then indicate the elapsed time.
Luminescence
The hour markers and hands of your watch are treated with a luminous material, allowing for clear time reading in low-light conditions. Exposure to light will charge the luminous elements.

Maintenance
Cleaning
Regular cleaning helps maintain the appearance and hygiene of your watch. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the case and crystal. For leather straps, wipe with a soft, damp cloth and allow to air dry. For stainless steel bracelets, a soft brush with mild soap and water can be used, ensuring to rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
Water Resistance
Your Pagani Design PD1820 watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters (10 ATM). This means it is suitable for everyday use, including hand washing, face washing, and swimming. However, it is crucial to observe the following precautions:
- Do not press any buttons or operate the crown while the watch is submerged in water.
- Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down (if applicable) before exposing the watch to water.
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes, such as hot showers, saunas, or hot springs, as this can compromise the water resistance seals.
- Do not wear the watch during diving activities beyond its rated depth.
Storage
When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. The original watch box is ideal for storage.
Troubleshooting
Watch Not Running or Stopping Frequently
- Insufficient Power Reserve: As an automatic watch, it requires motion to operate. If the watch has been inactive, manually wind it 20-30 times as described in the 'Initial Winding' section.
- Lack of Wear: If you do not wear the watch daily, consider using a watch winder to keep it powered.
- Impact: A severe impact could affect the movement. If the issue persists after winding, professional inspection may be required.
Condensation Under the Crystal
- Small amounts of condensation that disappear quickly are usually normal due to temperature changes.
- If heavy condensation persists or water droplets are visible, the water resistance may be compromised. Immediately take the watch to a qualified watch repair center to prevent further damage.
