  • Target ID: Displays a numerical value (0-99) indicating the type of metal detected.
  • Coin Depth: Shows the approximate depth of the target.
  • Sense Indicator: Displays the current sensitivity level.
  • Battery Level: Indicates remaining battery power.

  • All Metal Mode: Detects all types of metal. Ideal for beginners to discover everything.
  • Notch Mode: Allows you to filter out unwanted items (e.g., iron trash) by adjusting the discrimination settings.
  • Pinpoint (PP) Mode: Used for precise location of a detected target. Press the PP Button to activate. The detector will emit a continuous tone, increasing in pitch as you get closer to the target.
  • Memory Mode: Designed to focus on specific metals you've previously found.

5.4. Sensitivity & Volume Adjustment

  • Use the + and - buttons to adjust the sensitivity level. Higher sensitivity increases detection depth but may also increase false signals.
  • Press the VOL button to cycle through volume levels.

5.5. Target Identification

The detector provides a numerical Target ID to help identify the type of metal before digging:

Smart Metal ID Display

  • 0-40: Typically indicates iron or small ferrous items.
  • 41-65: Often indicates 5-cent coins, pull tabs, or aluminum.
  • 66-85: Commonly indicates 1-cent, 10-cent coins, or copper.
  • 86-99: Usually indicates 25-cent, 50-cent coins, or silver.

5.6. Using Headphones

Plug the included headphones into the 3.5mm jack on the left side of the control box. This allows for clearer audio signals and private searching, especially in noisy environments.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the detector's stem and control box with a damp cloth. Ensure the search coil is free of dirt and debris.
  • Water Resistance: The 8-inch search coil is IP68 waterproof and can be submerged in shallow water. However, the control box is NOT waterproof. Protect it from moisture and rain.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries from the control box to prevent leakage. Store the detector in its included carry bag in a cool, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check if the 9V batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
  • False Signals: Reduce the sensitivity level. Avoid areas with high electromagnetic interference (e.g., power lines, other electronic devices).
  • Inaccurate Target ID/Depth: Ensure the search coil is swept parallel to the ground at a consistent height (approximately 1-2 inches). Avoid sweeping too fast.
  • No Detection: Verify that the detector is turned on and the search coil cable is securely connected. Ensure you are in an appropriate detection mode (e.g., All Metal).
