Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your Snap & Draw activity kit:

  1. Step 1: Color a Scene
Select one of the four included scene panels (Beach, Savannah, Jungle, or Farm) or use the blank panel to create your own. Use the provided markers or your own coloring supplies to color the scene.Four different scene templates: Beach, Farm, Jungle, and Savannah, ready for coloring.

  2. Step 2: Build the Sound Circuit
Assemble the sound circuit on the base grid. Insert two AA batteries (not included) into the B1B Battery Holder. Connect the Speaker (SP3), Sound Module (U36), Switch (S1), and Battery Holder using the appropriate snap wires as shown in the diagram below. Ensure all connections are secure.Diagram showing the assembly steps for the Snap Circuits Snap & Draw kit, including coloring, circuit building, folding the scene, adding pop-ups, and activating sound.

  3. Step 3: Fold and Attach the Scene
Carefully fold your colored scene panel along the designated lines. Place the folded scene over the assembled circuit on the base grid, ensuring it aligns correctly. Tuck the first fold under the grid to secure it.
  4. Step 4: Add 3D Pop-Out Elements
Punch out the 3D elements from the cutouts panel. Color these elements if desired. Insert them into the corresponding slots in your scene panel and secure them with the tabs on the underside.Sheet of 3D pop-up elements for the Snap Circuits Snap & Draw kit, including a barn, chicken, umbrella, dolphin, elephant, gorilla, and tree, next to a completed scene with pop-ups.

Operating Instructions

Once your scene and circuit are assembled:

  1. Locate the green Switch (S1) on your circuit board.
  2. Slide the switch to the "ON" position.
  3. The sound module will activate, playing sounds specific to the scene you have chosen.
  4. To turn off the sound, slide the switch back to the "OFF" position.

You can experiment with different scenes and pop-out elements to create various interactive displays.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the plastic components with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Replacement: When sounds become faint or stop working, replace the two AA batteries in the B1B Battery Holder. Ensure correct polarity (+/-) when inserting new batteries.
  • Storage: Store the kit components in a dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep small parts away from young children.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No sound when switch is ON.
  • Batteries are dead or inserted incorrectly.
  • Loose connection in the circuit.
  • Switch is not fully in the "ON" position.
  • Replace batteries with fresh AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  • Check all snap connections to ensure they are firm.
  • Ensure the switch is fully engaged in the "ON" position.
Sound is faint or distorted.
  • Low battery power.
  • Speaker or sound module issue.
  • Replace batteries.
  • Ensure the speaker and sound module are correctly snapped into place.
Scene panel does not sit correctly.
  • Incorrect folding or placement.
  • Review Step 3 of Setup Instructions and ensure folds are crisp and aligned with the base grid.
