3. Setup

The GYMAX Balance Board requires minimal setup. Follow these steps to prepare for use:

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove the balance board, cork roller, and storage rack from their packaging.
  2. Inspect for Damage: Check all parts for any signs of damage during shipping. Contact customer support if any issues are found.
  3. Place the Roller: Position the cork roller on a flat, stable surface.
  4. Position the Board: Place the balance board centrally on top of the cork roller. Ensure the board is stable before stepping on it.
  5. Assemble Storage Rack (Optional): The storage rack typically comes in a few pieces. Slot the pieces together as shown in the diagram below to form the stand. This rack is used to store the board and roller when not in use.

4. Operating Instructions

The GYMAX Balance Board is designed to improve balance, core strength, and agility. Start slowly and gradually increase your challenge level.

4.1 Basic Balancing

  1. Initial Position: Place the board on the roller. Stand next to the board.
  2. Step On: With one foot, step onto the center of the board. Use a wall or a stable object for support if needed.
  3. Second Foot: Carefully place your second foot onto the board, distributing your weight evenly.
  4. Find Balance: Engage your core muscles and use small movements with your ankles, knees, and hips to maintain balance. Keep your gaze fixed on a point in front of you.
  5. Practice: Start with short durations and gradually increase the time you can balance.

4.2 Advanced Exercises

Once comfortable with basic balancing, you can explore various exercises to target different muscle groups and improve specific skills.

  • Sitting Balance: Sit on the board with the roller underneath, engaging your core to maintain stability.
  • Hip Bridges: Lie on your back with your feet on the board, then lift your hips off the ground.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life of your GYMAX Balance Board.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the board and roller with a damp cloth after each use. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the balance board and roller in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided storage rack to keep components organized and prevent damage.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the board and roller for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Ensure the cork roller remains smooth.
