2. Safety Information
WARNING: This is a Class 4 laser product. Direct exposure to the laser beam can cause severe eye injury, skin burns, and fire. Always follow safety precautions.
- Always wear appropriate laser safety goggles (OD6+ or higher) when operating the laser module.
- Never look directly into the laser beam or its reflection.
- Ensure the work area is well-ventilated to remove fumes and smoke generated during operation.
- Keep a fire extinguisher nearby. Laser cutting can ignite flammable materials.
- Do not leave the laser module unattended during operation.
- Keep children and pets away from the laser engraving machine.
- Ensure the laser module is securely mounted to prevent accidental movement.

3.2 Mounting the Laser Module
- Attach the slide rail to your CNC machine's gantry or mounting plate using the provided fixing screws.
- Slide the laser module onto the mounted rail and secure it firmly. Ensure the module is stable and does not wobble.
3.3 Electrical Connections
- Connect the 3P line from the laser module to the corresponding port on your laser engraver's control board.
- Connect the external power cord to the laser module and a suitable power supply.
- If using an external air pump (recommended for cutting), connect it to the designated air assist port on the laser module and its power source.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Software Setup
Ensure your laser control software (e.g., LightBurn, LaserGRBL) is correctly configured for your machine and the AENBUSLM 10W laser module. Refer to your software's documentation for specific settings.
4.2 Material Preparation
Place the material to be engraved or cut on the workbed. Ensure it is flat and securely held in place to prevent movement during operation.
4.3 Focusing the Laser
Accurate focusing is critical for optimal performance. Use the provided focus fixing plate:
- Lower the laser module until the focus fixing plate just touches the surface of your material.
- Tighten the module's securing screws to fix its height.
- Remove the focus fixing plate. The laser is now at the correct focal distance.
4.4 Engraving and Cutting Operations
The 10W laser module is capable of cutting various materials. For best results, use appropriate power and speed settings for your material. The integrated air assist significantly improves cutting performance and edge quality.

Image 4.1: Demonstrates the cutting capability of the laser module, showing a clean cut through 12mm acrylic and 15mm pinewood in a single pass.

Image 4.2: Illustrates the laser module's ability to cut 6mm acrylic with a smooth cross-section and 3mm planks with a smooth, thorn-free cross-section.
4.5 Using Air Assist
The built-in air assist system directs a stream of air to the cutting point, which helps to blow away debris, reduce charring, and improve cutting efficiency and quality. Ensure your air pump is connected and operational when performing cutting tasks, especially on thicker materials.

Image 4.3: A visual comparison showing the improved cutting quality and reduced charring when using the AENBUSLM laser module with air assist, compared to a module without air assist.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your laser module.
5.1 Cleaning the Protective Lens
The protective lens can accumulate dust and debris, affecting laser performance. Clean it regularly:
- Ensure the laser module is powered off and cooled down.
- Use the provided lens replacement tool or a soft, lint-free cloth with lens cleaning solution to gently wipe the protective lens. Avoid scratching the surface.
5.2 Replacing the Protective Lens
If the protective lens is scratched or damaged, it should be replaced:
- Power off the laser module.
- Use the lens replacement tool to carefully unscrew and remove the damaged lens.
- Insert a new replaceable protective lens and screw it in gently until secure.
5.3 General Cleaning
Keep the exterior of the laser module clean and free of dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Laser does not fire | No power; Loose connection; Software issue; Laser diode failure | Check power supply and connections. Verify software settings. Contact support if diode failure is suspected. |
| Weak laser output / Poor engraving/cutting | Incorrect focus; Dirty lens; Incorrect power/speed settings; Material too thick | Re-focus the laser. Clean the protective lens. Adjust power/speed settings in software. Use air assist for cutting. |
| Excessive smoke/charring | No air assist; Incorrect speed/power; Material type | Ensure air assist is active. Adjust speed and power settings. Consider material suitability. |
| Module overheating | Poor ventilation; Prolonged high power use | Ensure adequate airflow around the module. Allow for cool-down periods during extended use. |
