5. Controls and Connections

5.1 Front Panel

6. Setup

6.1 Initial Connection

  1. Ensure the amplifier is powered off and disconnected from the main power supply.
  2. Connect your speakers to the appropriate output jacks on the rear panel (Channel L, Channel R, or Bridge). Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
  3. Connect your audio source (e.g., mixer, CD player, computer) to the desired input jacks (XLR, RCA, AUX IN, or USB) on the front or rear panel.
  4. Connect the power cable to the AC Power Input on the rear panel and then to a grounded power outlet.

6.2 Output Mode Selection

The MAMP7 supports Stereo, Bridge, and Parallel output modes. Select the appropriate mode using the switch on the rear panel based on your speaker configuration.

  • Stereo Mode: For two-channel stereo sound. Connect speakers to Channel L and Channel R outputs.
  • Bridge Mode: Combines the power of both channels into a single, more powerful output for a single speaker (e.g., a subwoofer). Connect the speaker to the Bridge output.
  • Parallel Mode: Sends the same mono signal to both channels.

7. Operation

7.1 Powering On/Off

  1. Before powering on, ensure all volume controls are set to minimum.
  2. Press the Power Switch on the front panel to turn the amplifier on. The Power indicator light will illuminate.
  3. To power off, press the Power Switch again.

7.2 Input Selection

Use the Input Mode buttons on the front panel to cycle through available input sources: AUX, USB, LINE, and BLUE (Bluetooth).

7.3 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Select "BLUE" input mode using the Input Mode button. The Bluetooth indicator will flash, indicating it is in pairing mode.
  2. On your device (smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "Donner MAMP7" from the list. Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator will remain solid.
  4. You can now stream audio wirelessly to the amplifier.

7.4 USB Playback

  1. Insert a USB storage device (formatted with supported audio files, max 64 GB) into the USB Input port.
  2. Select "USB" input mode. The amplifier will automatically begin playing audio files from the USB device.
  3. Use the playback control buttons (Play/Pause, Next, Previous) on the front panel to manage playback.

7.5 EQ Adjustment

Use the Treble, Middle, and Bass knobs on the front panel to adjust the frequency response of the audio output. Rotate clockwise to increase and counter-clockwise to decrease the respective frequency band.

8. Maintenance
