Setup
1. Initial Charging of Outdoor Sensor Battery
The outdoor sensor is primarily solar-powered, but an initial charge of its internal rechargeable battery is recommended for optimal performance, especially during periods of low sunlight. Locate the battery compartment on the outdoor sensor. Connect the provided charger to the battery and plug it into a power outlet. The charging indicator will turn red while charging and green when fully charged. This initial charge may take several hours.
2. Assembling the Outdoor Sensor Array
The outdoor sensor array comes partially pre-assembled. You will need to attach the wind vane and wind cups. Ensure proper alignment as per the diagrams in the Quick Setup Instruction guide.
Note: Handle the wind cups and wind vane carefully to avoid damage. These components are delicate and crucial for accurate wind measurements.
3. Mounting the Outdoor Sensor
The outdoor sensor should be mounted in an open area, free from obstructions, to ensure accurate readings for wind, rain, and temperature. The mounting pole and hardware allow for various installation options:
- Pole Mounting: Use the provided U-bolts and brackets to secure the sensor to a suitable pole (e.g., a 4x4 post, satellite pole). Ensure the pole is sturdy and vertically aligned.
- Wall Mounting: The brackets can also be used to mount the sensor directly to a wall.
- Railing Mounting: Similar to pole mounting, the brackets can adapt to railings.
Important: Ensure the solar panel on the outdoor sensor is facing south to maximize sunlight exposure for battery charging. Use the integrated bubble level on the sensor to ensure it is perfectly horizontal for accurate rain and wind measurements.
4. Installing Batteries in the Indoor Display
The indoor display console requires 3x AAA batteries (not included) for backup power. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the display and insert the batteries, observing correct polarity. The display can also be powered continuously via the included AC adapter.
5. Connecting Outdoor Sensor to Indoor Display (Pairing)
Once both the outdoor sensor and indoor display are powered on, they should automatically attempt to pair. The display will enter pairing mode and search for the outdoor sensor. A successful connection will show outdoor temperature, humidity, and other data on the display. If pairing does not occur within 5 minutes, refer to the troubleshooting section for re-pairing instructions.
6. App Connectivity (Local Data Viewing/Storage)
The Sainlogic SA68 supports app connectivity for local data viewing and storage. Download the "Sainlogic" app from your device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your smartphone to the weather station's local Wi-Fi network (not your home internet Wi-Fi, as this model does not support internet connectivity). This allows you to view current and historical weather data on your mobile device.

Operating the Display
The large 7.5-inch VA display provides a clear overview of all your weather data. It features 4 brightness levels for comfortable viewing day or night.
- Brightness Adjustment: Use the dedicated button on the display to cycle through brightness levels.
- Time and Date Setting: Access the settings menu to manually set the current time, date, and year.
- Unit Selection: Switch between Fahrenheit/Celsius for temperature, inHg/hPa for barometric pressure, and mph/km/h/knots for wind speed.
- Min/Max Records: View the minimum and maximum recorded values for various parameters over a 24-hour period or since the last reset.
- Weather Forecast: The display provides a 6-12 hour weather forecast based on barometric pressure trends.
- Moon Phase: The current moon phase is displayed.
- Alarm Clock: Set and manage alarms directly from the display console.
Maintenance
- Outdoor Sensor Battery: The outdoor sensor's rechargeable battery is maintained by its integrated solar panel. In prolonged periods of heavy cloud cover, manual charging may be required.
- Rain Collector: Periodically check and clean the rain collector funnel to ensure accurate rainfall measurements. Remove any debris that may obstruct the funnel.
- General Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the display console and outdoor sensor. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Troubleshooting
- No Outdoor Sensor Data:
- Ensure the outdoor sensor battery is charged and correctly installed.
- Verify the outdoor sensor and indoor display are within the specified transmission range (up to 492 ft / 150 m).
- Check for any metal objects or thick walls between the sensor and display that might interfere with the wireless signal.
- Perform a manual re-pairing process as described in the full user manual.
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure the outdoor sensor is mounted level using the integrated bubble level.
- Verify the sensor is free from obstructions (e.g., leaves, debris) that could affect wind or rain measurements.
- Check that the solar panel is facing south for optimal performance.
- Display Not Powering On:
- Ensure the AC adapter is securely plugged into both the display and a working power outlet.
- Check that the backup AAA batteries (if used) are correctly installed and not depleted.
