Maintenance

Cleaning

Regularly clean your watch with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the case, strap, or crystal.

Water Resistance

This watch is water-resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). This rating makes it suitable for showering, swimming, and snorkeling. However, it is not designed for scuba diving. To maintain water resistance, ensure all buttons are not operated while the watch is submerged in water.

Battery Replacement

The watch uses a CR2016 cell battery. When the display dims, functions become erratic, or the watch stops working, the battery may need replacement. It is highly recommended to have battery replacement performed by a qualified watch technician. This ensures the correct battery type is used and the watch's water resistance is properly resealed.

Strap Replacement

The Timex Expedition Ridge TW4B34400 features quick-release spring bars, allowing for easy strap changes without the need for specialized tools. Simply slide the small lever on the spring bar to compress it and remove the strap. To install a new strap, reverse the process.

Troubleshooting

  • Blank Display: If the display is blank, check if the battery tab has been removed. If the watch is not new, the battery may need replacement.
  • Incorrect Time/Date: Re-enter the time and date setting mode as described in the 'Setup' section and adjust the values.
  • Buttons Unresponsive: Ensure the watch is not in a locked mode (if applicable). If buttons remain unresponsive, a battery reset might be necessary; consult a professional watch service.
  • INDIGLO® Not Working: Check the battery level. A low battery can affect backlight functionality.
