4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Charging the Devices

Before initial use, fully charge both the transmitter and receiver using the provided USB-A to C cable and a standard USB power adapter (not included).

  1. Connect the USB-C end of the cable to the charging port on both the transmitter and receiver.
  2. Connect the USB-A end to a USB power source.
  3. The battery indicator lights will show charging status. Once fully charged, the indicators will show full.

4.2 Connecting the Transmitter

  1. Identify the audio output of your source device (e.g., audio mixer, electronic drum, instrument speaker, PA system).
  2. Use the appropriate cable (1/4" TRS to XLR or 1/4" TRS to 1/8" TRS) to connect the audio output of your source device to the 1/4" TRS input on the Donner CV-3 transmitter.
  3. Ensure a secure connection.

4.3 Connecting the Receiver

  1. Connect your monitoring headphones to the 1/8" TRS output on the Donner CV-3 receiver.
  2. Attach the receiver to your belt or clothing using the integrated belt clip for ease of movement.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

  • To power on: Long press the Power Button on both the transmitter and receiver until the screen or indicator lights up.
  • To power off: Long press the Power Button on both devices until the screen or indicator turns off.

5.2 Channel Selection and Pairing

The system automatically scans for the clearest channel. Manual channel selection is also possible.

  1. Power on both the transmitter and receiver. They will attempt to pair automatically.
  2. If pairing does not occur automatically or if you experience interference, press the Frequency Band Selection button on the transmitter to cycle through available channels (1-8).
  3. Simultaneously, press the Frequency Band Selection button on the receiver to match the channel displayed on the transmitter.
  4. The devices are successfully paired when the channel numbers match and the status indicators show a stable connection (blue for Mono, green for Stereo).

5.3 Mono/Stereo Mode Selection

The system supports both Mono and Stereo audio output modes.

  • To switch modes: Briefly click the Power Button on the transmitter. The receiver's screen will update to show either "MONO" or "STEREO".
  • Mono Mode: Combines left and right audio channels into a single signal, useful for monitoring a single instrument or vocal track.
  • Stereo Mode: Separates left and right audio channels, providing a wider soundstage for a more immersive monitoring experience.

5.4 Adjusting Volume

Use the volume knob on the receiver to adjust your monitoring level.

  1. Rotate the Volume Knob on the receiver clockwise to increase volume.
  2. Rotate the Volume Knob counter-clockwise to decrease volume.
  3. The current volume level will be displayed on the receiver's color screen.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the devices with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components.

6.2 Storage

  • Store the system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Use the provided zipper storage pouch to protect the devices from dust and scratches when not in use.
