Tangkula 40 Gallon Outdoor Storage Bench

1. Safety Information

Please read and understand all instructions before assembly and use. Keep this manual for future reference.

• Weight Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 800 lbs for seating.
• Storage Capacity: Do not overload the 40-gallon storage compartment.
• Assembly: Ensure all bolts and fasteners are securely tightened before use. Periodically check and re-tighten as necessary.
• Placement: Place the bench on a flat, stable surface to prevent tipping.
• Weather Exposure: While designed for outdoor use, prolonged exposure to heavy rain or extreme weather conditions should be avoided to extend product life. The internal liner provides protection for stored items, but is not fully waterproof.
• Children: Supervise children around the bench, especially when the storage lid is open, to prevent accidents.

3. Setup (Assembly Instructions)

Assembly is required. It is recommended to have two people for easier and quicker assembly. Please follow these steps carefully.

3.1 Unpacking and Preparation

• Remove all components from the packaging.
• Lay out all parts on a clean, soft surface (e.g., a blanket or cardboard) to prevent scratches.
• Identify all hardware and components using the parts list in the instruction manual.

3.2 Assembling the Frame

1. Attach the side frames to the base frame using the provided bolts and Allen key. Do not fully tighten bolts until all components are loosely assembled.
2. Connect the backrest panel to the side frames. Ensure the rattan weaving is facing outwards.
3. Secure the lid support mechanism (gas strut) to the designated points on the frame and lid. Refer to the detailed diagrams in the included instruction manual for precise placement.
4. Once all parts are in place, gradually tighten all bolts evenly until secure. Avoid over-tightening.

3.3 Installing the Liner and Cushion

1. Place the internal storage liner inside the bench compartment. Ensure it fits snugly and the zipper is accessible.
2. Position the seat cushion on top of the bench. Use the attached fixing ties to secure the cushion to the bench frame, preventing it from sliding.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Using the Bench for Seating

The Tangkula Outdoor Storage Bench is designed to comfortably seat up to two people. The 43.5-inch wide seat and 105-degree inclined backrest provide ergonomic support. Ensure the storage lid is fully closed before sitting.

4.2 Accessing the Storage Compartment

The bench features a 40-gallon storage compartment for outdoor essentials. To access:

1. Remove the seat cushion.
2. Lift the bench lid. The gas strut mechanism will assist in holding the lid open securely.
3. Place or retrieve items from the internal storage liner. The liner can be zipped closed for added protection.
4. Gently close the lid, ensuring it latches properly. Replace the seat cushion.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Rattan and Frame

• Wipe the PE rattan and metal frame with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water.
• Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely to prevent water spots or rust.
• Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or stiff brushes, as these can damage the finish.

5.2 Cushion Care

• The cushion cover is removable and features a zipper for easy cleaning.
• Hand wash or machine wash the cover on a gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent. Air dry only; do not tumble dry.
• Store cushions indoors during inclement weather or prolonged periods of non-use to maintain their appearance and extend their lifespan.

5.3 Storage Liner Care

• Periodically empty and wipe down the internal storage liner to remove any dirt or debris.
• Ensure the liner is dry before zipping it closed to prevent mold or mildew growth.
