Tenpmas RV Tire Pressure Monitoring System H17R-US5 Instruction Manual

Model: H17R-US5

1. Product Overview

The Tenpmas H17R-US5 RV Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is designed to provide real-time tire pressure and temperature monitoring for various vehicles, including RVs, trailers, SUVs, and trucks. This system includes a display monitor, six all-metal sensors, and a signal repeater with an external antenna to ensure stable signal transmission over distances up to 66 feet. It supports 2, 4, and 6-wheel configurations.

3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, charge the display monitor for at least 3 hours using the provided USB cable. The monitor also supports solar charging for continuous power supply.

3.2 Sensor Installation

  1. Ensure your vehicle has metal valve stems. Installation on plastic valves is not supported and may cause damage.
  2. Thread a lock nut onto the valve stem.
  3. Screw the sensor onto the valve stem until it is hand-tight.
  4. Use the provided wrench to tighten the lock nut against the sensor to secure it.
  5. Repeat for all tires. Note that the weight of each sensor is approximately 0.55 ounces (15.5 grams), which may require tire balancing after installation.

3.3 Repeater Installation

The repeater enhances signal strength and stability, especially for longer vehicles or trailers.

  • Connect the repeater to a 12V power supply.
  • Install the repeater between the display monitor and the furthest sensor.
  • The repeater is waterproof and automatically pairs with the system.

3.4 Display Monitor Placement

Attach the monitor to your dashboard using the removable stand and double-sided tape. Ensure the solar panel is exposed to sunlight for optimal charging.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Real-Time Monitoring

The monitor displays tire pressure and temperature for all connected sensors in real-time. This system provides 24-hour real-time updates, ensuring that any tire pressure changes, even during sleep mode, are immediately displayed upon waking up.

Image: The Tenpmas TPMS provides immediate updates on tire pressure changes, unlike older systems that require driving to update values after sleep mode.

4.2 Alarm Modes

The system features 5 alarm modes to alert you to potential tire issues:

  • High Pressure Alarm: Alerts when tire pressure exceeds a preset maximum.
  • Low Pressure Alarm: Alerts when tire pressure drops below a preset minimum.
  • Fast Leak Alarm: Alerts rapidly for sudden pressure drops.
  • High Temperature Alarm: Alerts when tire temperature exceeds a safe limit.
  • Sensor Loss Alarm: Alerts if a sensor signal is lost.

Alarms provide both sound and light prompts. You can adjust high and low PSI warning thresholds as needed.

4.3 Display Settings

The monitor offers 5 levels of brightness adjustment for clear visibility in various lighting conditions, from bright sunlight to night driving.

4.4 Automatic Sleep Mode & Vibration Detection

The system features an automatic sleep mode for lower power consumption. It also includes a vibration detection function that automatically activates the monitor when motion is detected.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Sensor Battery Replacement

The sensors use CR1632 button cell batteries. To replace a sensor battery:

  1. Unscrew the sensor from the valve stem.
  2. Use the provided wrench to open the sensor casing.
  3. Carefully remove the old CR1632 battery.
  4. Insert a new CR1632 battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Close the sensor casing and re-install it on the valve stem, securing with the lock nut.

5.2 Cleaning

Wipe the monitor and sensors with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

5.3 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to remove the sensors from the valve stems and remove their batteries to prevent drainage. Store the kit indoors in a cool, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Sensor Not Registering/Pairing: If a sensor fails to register, try replacing its battery. Ensure the repeater is properly installed and powered, especially for longer vehicles.
  • Signal Loss/Interference: Ensure the repeater is correctly positioned between the monitor and the furthest sensors. Avoid placing the monitor directly on the dashboard if it causes interference; try a higher position. The external antenna design provides a maximum stable working distance of 66 feet.
  • Monitor Screen Not Turning Off: If the monitor screen remains on, block the solar charger to allow it to power down.
  • Rapid Sensor Battery Drain: Ensure the monitor is turning off or entering sleep mode when the vehicle is stationary. If the screen remains on constantly, it can contribute to sensor battery drain.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Verify sensors are securely tightened on metal valve stems. Ensure tire balancing has been performed if necessary due to sensor weight.
