1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the SONA 18” Remote DC Stand Fan, Model SFS 1192DC. This manual provides important information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new fan. Please read these instructions thoroughly before use and retain them for future reference.

This fan features a Full Copper Coil Brushless DC Motor, 7-bladed break-resistant ABS fan blade, 12 speed selections, 3 wind modes (Normal, Natural, Sleep), a 9-hour timer, pre-set timer, smart memory function, and left-right oscillation with up-down tilting adjustment.

2. Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always follow these basic safety precautions:

  • Ensure the power supply voltage (100-240V, 50/60Hz) matches the fan's requirements before plugging in.
  • Always unplug the fan from the power outlet before cleaning, servicing, or when not in use.
  • Do not insert fingers or any other objects through the fan grille when the fan is operating.
  • Place the fan on a stable, level surface to prevent it from tipping over.

4. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your SONA Stand Fan:

  1. Assemble the Base: Attach the stand pole to the round base, securing it firmly with the provided screw or knob from underneath.
  2. Attach the Motor Unit: Place the fan motor unit onto the top of the stand pole and secure it.
  3. Install the Rear Grille: Position the rear grille onto the motor unit, ensuring it aligns correctly with the securing clips or screws.
  4. Install the Fan Blade: Slide the 7-bladed ABS fan blade onto the motor shaft. Secure it with the blade cap, turning it counter-clockwise to tighten.
  5. Install the Front Grille: Place the front grille over the rear grille, aligning the clips. Secure the grilles together using the provided clips or screws around the rim.
  6. Position the Fan: Place the assembled fan on a stable, flat surface.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Control Panel and Remote Control

Your fan can be operated using the control panel located on the motor unit or via the included remote control. The remote control provides convenient access to all fan functions.

5.2. Power On/Off

Press the POWER button on the control panel or remote control to turn the fan on or off.

5.3. Speed Selection

The fan offers 12 speed settings. Press the SPEED button repeatedly to cycle through the desired fan speed. Higher numbers indicate stronger airflow.

5.4. Wind Modes

Select from three distinct wind modes by pressing the MODE button:

  • Normal Mode: Provides a consistent airflow at the selected speed.
  • Natural Mode: Simulates natural breezes by varying the fan speed intermittently.
  • Sleep Mode: Operates at a lower, quieter speed with gentle variations, ideal for sleeping.

5.5. Timer Function

Set the fan to automatically turn off after a specified period, up to 9 hours. Press the TIMER button repeatedly to select the desired duration. The fan also features a pre-set timer function for convenience.

5.6. Oscillation and Tilting Adjustment

Press the OSC button to activate or deactivate the left-right oscillation feature, which distributes air across a wider area. The fan head can also be manually tilted up or down to adjust the vertical airflow direction.

5.7. Smart Memory Function

The fan is equipped with a Smart Memory Function. When the fan is turned off and then on again, it will recall and resume operation at the last used speed and oscillation setting, providing consistent comfort without needing to reconfigure settings.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your fan.

  • Cleaning: Always unplug the fan before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Grille Cleaning: Periodically remove the front grille to clean the fan blades and the inside of the grilles. Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust. Ensure all parts are dry before reassembling.
  • Motor: The Brushless DC Motor is designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. Do not attempt to lubricate or open the motor housing.
