3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

1. Carefully remove the unit and all accessories from the packaging.
2. Check that all components are present: Spot Cooler unit, Exhaust Duct, Duct Connector A, Duct Connector B, Remote Control, Drain Hose, Window Stopper, Adjusters (x2), Sponge Seals (x4), Window Panels (x3), Fixing Screw Set (x6), Exhaust Hose Insulation Cover.
3. Keep the packaging for future storage or transportation.

3.2 Window Panel and Exhaust Hose Installation

Proper installation of the window panel and exhaust hose is crucial for efficient operation.

1. Connect Exhaust Duct: Extend the exhaust duct and securely attach Duct Connector A to one end.
2. Attach to Unit: Insert Duct Connector A into the exhaust duct cover on the back of the portable cooler unit. Extend the exhaust duct to the required length.
3. Connect Duct Connector B: Attach Duct Connector B to the other end of the exhaust duct.
4. Assemble Window Panels: Depending on your window height, assemble the window panels using the provided adjusters and screws. The panels can accommodate heights from 65cm to 185cm.
5. Install Adjusters: Attach the adjusters to your window rail.
6. Secure Window: Use the window stopper to prevent the window from opening, enhancing security.
7. Connect to Window Panel: Connect Duct Connector B to the opening in the assembled window panel.
8. Position Unit: Place the portable cooler unit near the window. Ensure the distance between the unit and the window is at least 70cm, and the top of the exhaust hose is at least 90cm from the floor.
9. Apply Insulation Cover: For improved cooling efficiency, wrap the exhaust hose with the provided insulation cover.

3.3 Drainage Setup

The HAUSHOF Spot Cooler features a self-evaporative system in cooling mode, which typically eliminates the need for manual drainage under normal temperature and humidity conditions. However, in high humidity environments or when using the dehumidification mode, water will accumulate and needs to be drained.

• Continuous Drainage (Dehumidification Mode): Attach the drain hose to the drainage port at the back of the unit and direct it to a suitable container or floor drain. Ensure the hose is sloped downwards for continuous flow.
• Manual Drainage (Full Tank): When the internal water tank is full, the unit will stop operating, and a full tank indicator will light up. Turn off the unit, remove the rubber plug from the drainage port, and drain the water into a bucket or tray. Replace the plug securely after draining.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Control Panel Overview

The unit can be operated via the touch control panel on top of the unit or the included remote control.

• Power Button (1): Turns the unit ON or OFF.
• Mode Button (2): Cycles through Cooling, Fan, and Dehumidification modes.
• Fan Speed Button (3): Adjusts fan speed (Low/High).
• Temperature Down Button (4): Decreases the set temperature.
• Temperature Up Button (5): Increases the set temperature.
• Timer Button (6): Sets the auto-on or auto-off timer (1-24 hours).
• Sleep Mode Button (7): Activates Sleep Mode.
• Lock Button (8): Locks the control panel to prevent accidental changes.
• Digital Display: Shows the set temperature or timer settings.

4.2 Operating Modes

• Cooling Mode: Press the Mode button until the snowflake icon appears. Use the Up/Down buttons to set your desired temperature (16°C - 32°C).
• Fan Mode: Press the Mode button until the fan icon appears. The unit will circulate air without cooling. Use the Fan Speed button to adjust airflow.
• Dehumidification Mode: Press the Mode button until the water drop icon appears. The unit will remove moisture from the air. In this mode, continuous drainage is recommended.

4.3 Airflow Adjustment

Manually adjust the horizontal and vertical louvers on the front of the unit to direct the airflow up, down, left, or right as desired.

4.4 Sleep Mode

Activate Sleep Mode for quieter operation and gradual temperature adjustments during the night. In cooling mode, the set temperature will increase by 1°C after the first hour and another 1°C after the second hour, then maintain that temperature.

4.5 Remote Control Usage

The remote control duplicates all functions available on the control panel. Point the remote control directly at the unit's receiver when operating.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your spot cooler.

5.1 Filter Cleaning

The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

1. Turn off the unit and unplug it from the power outlet.
2. Locate the air filter panel (usually on the side or back of the unit).
3. Gently pull out the filter.
4. Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner to remove dust. For more thorough cleaning, wash it with lukewarm water and a mild detergent.
5. Rinse the filter thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before reinserting it into the unit.

5.2 Storage

If the unit will not be used for an extended period:

1. Drain all water from the unit.
2. Clean the air filter.
3. Run the unit in fan mode for a few hours to dry the internal components.
4. Unplug the unit and coil the power cord.
5. Store the unit in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging.
