Setup

1. Unboxing and Initial Cleaning:

  1. Carefully remove all packaging materials and stickers from the coffee maker.
  2. Wash the removable drip trays, reusable ground filter, and K-pod holder in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These accessories are also dishwasher-safe.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.

2. Placement:

Place the coffee maker on a clean, dry, and level surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance above the unit to open the lid for water filling. If placing under a low-hanging cabinet, you may need to pull the unit forward to access the water reservoir.

3. Water Tank:

The water tank is non-removable. Lift the lid on top of the unit to access the water reservoir. Fill the reservoir with fresh, cold water. Do not exceed the "MAX" fill line (16 oz) indicated on the side of the water tank to prevent overflow.

Operating Instructions

1. Brewing Hot Coffee (K-Cup or Ground Coffee):

  1. Ensure the water reservoir is filled with fresh, cold water up to your desired brew size, not exceeding the MAX line.
  2. For K-Cups: Open the brewer handle, insert a K-Cup into the K-Pod holder, and close the handle securely.
  3. For Ground Coffee: Open the brewer handle, place the reusable ground filter into the K-Pod holder, and add your desired amount of ground coffee (up to 1.1 oz). Close the handle securely.
  4. Place your mug on the drip tray. Use the appropriate drip tray (tall or short) or remove both to accommodate travel mugs up to 7.3 inches tall.
  5. Select your desired cup size (6, 8, 10, 12, or 16 oz) using the "OZ" button.
  6. Choose your brew strength:
    • Press "HOT BREW" for a classic hot coffee.
    • Press "BOLD" for a richer, more intense flavor. This extends the brew time for deeper extraction.
  7. The coffee maker will begin brewing. Brewing typically takes 2-4 minutes.
  8. Once brewing is complete, the machine will automatically shut off after 10 minutes of inactivity for safety and energy efficiency.

2. Descaling:

Over time, mineral deposits can build up in your coffee maker, affecting performance and taste. The machine features a descaling reminder.

  • Self-Cleaning Function:
    1. Add 16 oz of descaling solution (e.g., white vinegar or a commercial descaling agent) to the water reservoir.
    2. Press and hold the "OVER ICE" and "BOLD" buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to start the self-cleaning cycle.
    3. The "OVER ICE" and "BOLD" lights will flash during descaling.
    4. Once the cycle is complete, rinse the reservoir and run two cycles with fresh water to flush out any remaining solution.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Water overflowing from the back of the unit.Water reservoir overfilled.Ensure water is filled only up to the "MAX" line (16 oz). Do not exceed this limit.
Coffee splashing during brewing.Mug is too far from the dispenser.Use the appropriate drip tray (tall or short) to elevate your mug closer to the dispenser and minimize splashing. Two elevated drip trays are included for different cup heights.
Brewer lid pops open during brewing.Lid not securely closed or pressure buildup.Ensure the lid is firmly closed and latched before starting the brew cycle. If the issue persists, ensure the K-Cup or reusable filter is correctly seated.
Coffee tastes weak.Insufficient coffee grounds or incorrect brew setting.Use the "BOLD" brew setting for a stronger cup. Ensure you are using enough ground coffee if using the reusable filter.
Coffee not brewing or partial brew.Insufficient water in reservoir or K-Cup/filter not properly punctured.Check water level. Ensure K-Cup is properly seated and punctured, or that the reusable filter is correctly placed. Perform a descaling cycle if the machine hasn't been descaled recently.
